Nocturne's Ultimate is a problem

I love Nocturne, I really do. I think he has the most potential to be the scariest Jungler in the game. But there is always this one factor that keeps coming back me and makes me question it.

##Why is his ultimate cast range so small.

Why is his MAX Ultimate cast range 3500, while Twisted Fate's is 5500? Why do I have the feeling that it's suppose to be bigger than it is now?

It baffles me as to why the range is so small for what it does; It's a gap closer. But, only does damage... Why is this an Ultimate? This would be okay for an Ultimate if it did more than a fog of annoyance and a single target ability. If it give you movement speed after the cast to 'stick' to your enemy, that would be good. Or if it rooted the enemy as you hit your target, or even instantly fearing the target champion as soon as he hits his destination.

**Not just a large gap closer. **

##My question to you: If the incentive of using his Ultimate is to gank by scaring the enemy team when you use it, what should it do when activated? Tell me what you guys think of his Ultimate in this current meta. Maybe I'm wrong.

#Note: These points below are personal problems. I put the minors problems with him here, since these aren't major issues and probably don't affect many people. But are still something that I just wanted to point out when I play him.

  • His engage isn't amazing Pre-6.
  • Clear speed is fair, easy in-and-out after first recall/got items.
  • Spellshield (Shroud of Darkness):
    • It costs mana; Sivir's does not.
    • It's a 12 second cooldown at MAX rank; Sivir's a 10 second cooldown.

I understand that Nocturne isn't suppose to spam minions/creeps, since he is an assassin and assassins that use mana wait for the right moment to then strike with everything. I get that. I just don't know why Nocturne's spells exist, if there are similar spells that do the same thing but slightly better. Sivir Spell Shield RekSai Ultimate TwistedFate Ultimate Fiddlesticks Fear

You do know at one point Noct's ulti had a far longer range that it has now, right?

The problem with giving noct's ulti a far range is that he can engage on targets that he never intended to from the start. With his current range, he needs to get himself close enough to the target, and his ult allows him to stay out of vision range, and then attack the target. There is no, oh look my bot lane is being ganked, lets walk down from wraiths and help. Noct was meant to give fear to the person he's hunting, and giving him a longer ult range doesn't do that.

I do agree noct needs some love in other ways, but certainly not his ult range, no.

It used to be global, but was too strong so they nerfed it. Stop crying, Nocturne is in a good spot, the only problem in this game are low el0 fr00bl0rds who are bad at the game and blame everything except themselves.

Noc's only issue is competing with Rengar. He loses out in every meaningful area except early game farming and peel resistance.
