The Rise of Support Mordekaiser?
Ever since the new season I have been playing a lot of jungle mordekaiser. I like it because the jungle gives good returns after level 3 where Morde tears through it and one of his biggest weaknesses, being ganked, is less of an issue. I have laned so much over the years I found it boring, however the new support masteries on the PBE may have changed my mind. With Morde's ability to poke in a cone fairly reliably and his new speed up giving him bare bones utility to synergize with some potential champs down bottom I think it could be fun to lane again. Ashe is a good candidate who can use the speed up to keep enemies pinned while Morde finally has a way to catch people thanks to frost arrows.
Being able to combine spell theif's edge with the bandit passive and the combined gpm passive should allow for some good gold generation without having to last hit. The tricky part being angling the cones so you harass instead of kill minions. This gold generation makes it easier to afford items while still springing for the occasional ward and ward upgrade. New vision options and harass income may very well make it easier for morde to transition from support to APC alongside the ADC they were helping in the laning phase.
I would probably go with these masteries if the supports are pushed through:
Runes would most likely be flat pen and armor. With teleport and ignite for spells.
