Being frontline fucking sucks.

dies so backline survives in a teamfight, death timer is pinged

is behind because of constant fights, so goes to another lane to farm and try and catch up while getting map presence "Darius wtf r u doing, group."

is behind, so can't tank much damage or do much damage "wow ur shit, u didn't get a single ult reset." death timer is pinged

Tried to farm more, this time with tp up, in case my team tries to force a fight "Why tf r u even pushing bot group up"

tells the team we are behind and we should stop fighting, as we have lost the past 4 fights "No, YOUR the only one behind. YOUR the only reason we're losing." (in that exact spelling)

sona literally fucking facechecks fog of war near baron, knowing baron is soon to be contested, and dies in 1 hit to the fed rhast "/all GG top"

The fuck do i even do here. I need to farm to catch up, but team won't let me, as they then force fights then blame me for losing that failed fight. If i group, we still lose because I'm massively behind and don't have the stats to properly aid my team.

Fuck this game.

Welcome to League, teammates flame you. This is all roles, frontline isn't special.

ADC GETS NO PEEL "WTF you did no damage" pings death timer

Mid laner doesn't have prio, but jungle forces fight in river. "WTF where is my mid laner" pings mid laner

Jungle does anything "wtf jungle win me lane for me dipshit"

You get the idea.

Epicebixia3 votes

not a jungle main btw but low elo sounds like this

Too damn true.

Anyone can starts flaming anyone just out of the blue, no one gets special treatment x)

That 2nd one is used far too often in high elo.

Our top laner is a level 2 Yorick vs Teemo and our mid laner is a level 2 Talon vs Orianna? Time to invade their topside jungle while my solo laners have 0 prio. dies to 3 man collapse "WTF solo lanes"

When your lanes lose before you can even finish birbs camp and then blame you.

Voluug132 votes

I have seen way too many adcs that go to melee to do basic attacks tho.

You cant peel stupidity.

ChaosReyn1 votes

I main both halves of bot lane. Sometimes it's as simple as "I right clicked this guy to basic attack him, and my game decided that meant I wanted to path up and give him a blowjob instead."

But either way, you're right - you can't peel that shit. Be it a poor life decision or the game wanting you ded, stupidity knows no limits.

Why do people always gotta find a way to throw shots at ADCs on like every post on these boards? :\

believe it or not, really easy to set back juggernauts in general. Just get a lvl 2 gank, then a lvl 3 gank, and congrats, now they cant do anything in lane without risking jungler presence. Use this advantage to build damage items and poke him, so they can't commit to trades and duels.

Meteora7071 votes

oh for sure it is, that doesn't change the fact that its intended for you to be useless when behind much like it is for pantheon, jayce, lee sin etc. while behind.

Joseraph3 votes

Just checked your match history. If you're behind and building damage items then there's your issue. I've had none of these problems playing from behind and I've won 11/13 games on Garen, because if I think I'm going to go behind I'll immediately build a tank item or two. Meanwhile you have games where you go insanely negative and build item 3078 /item 3071 item 3053 and wonder why you can't take a hit

If you’re altering your build based on performance you’re playing wrong. You should already have a fairly clear idea of what your build will be each game.

The only time you should deviate is if your bot lane is mega-fed, then you just build tank and embrace the free coinflip win.

That said, building Tank on Garen otherwise is highly ineffective if the enemy simply ignores your pitiful damage. On top of that, Steraks is one of the best defensive items for any fighter due to granting health (effective vs phys and mr) and a health-based shield and is especially good on Garen due to having high natural armor and mr from his W and you get damage + Tenacity on top of it.

Usually when you see you perform badly with your build it's already too late to adjust. Whoever is whacking you will still whack you without much difference, cause he's already ahead of you most likely and almost every build these days is maximizing on defense-penetration. Your only way is not just turtle up, cause, again, you will be clubbed just as hard, but to go balls to the walls and still participate in the arms race, while trying your best not to fight untill your glass cannon might be a huge surprise in a teamfight.

For tank items to make a difference in your performance, this game shouldn't force every damage dealer to buy armor pen along with sprinkling true damage on top as their usual, normal build path. Cause even if you bulk up on armor or mr, it won't make any difference either way. Especially in middle of laning phase.

Edit:

This game no longer has that element you think of. It worked long time before, like in S4, or so, when the gap between armor/mr and damage wasn't as vast and stacking on damage didn't come with insane synergy effects. To fix it, we'd have to make armor/mr-piercing less effective and just niche, where you buy it cause you have to, rather than to make my pew pew against everyone into PAWG PAWG. We'd also have to remove all forms of free normal and true damage.

Doing that would allow players to suddenly adjust their builds to counter enemies so they'd have to adjust accordingly. At least that's how I see it.

How the fuck are you people higher elo than me

Z3Sleeper1 votes

As in you should already know how it’s gonna play out. If you’re the type that goes “oh they have so much healing now” you already did it wrong. If you anticipated it before-hand and knew this was going to be an issue later you would have already adapted your build path to an additional purchase of a GW item and known exactly when you were going to build it.

Flailing your build around with no plan gets you nowhere.

Also this is why I’m higher ranked.

I’m not saying build the same thing every game, I’m saying you should know what you should be building and stick to it, you chose that build path for a reason. If you haven’t even considered why you’re building those items then you never had a plan to begin with.

If you look at my games, my builds are all over the place and most of those are pre-planned and not done on the fly.

The only items i build responsively are things like Executioner when responding to a Tahm building Wits End since otherwise GW was never on the agenda.

Juggernaut scales best with damage. Runes also scale with damage - if you don't build damage, it's almost as if you are playing without runes cause most of them just boost your damage. Damage scales with damage, especially when combined with both being a juggernaut and using pretty much any runes. Building damage when behind is just as effective as building tank when behind, cause in the end you'll evaporate just as quickly in this meta of free true damage on top of free damage.

Sterraks is an antiburst thats a near must for darius, as unlike Garen, Darius doesn't have a form of consistant engage. Garen has a speedboost for a few seconds, and primarily serves to disrupt and execute one squishy. Darius is meant to zone, displace, disrupt, and pose a threat for the enemy. Sterraks is defense, not offense in nearly all cases. Trinity/black cleaver r musts for Darius because he needs the phage proc to be any bit reliable in fights, as he has no speed boost in his overall kit.

Furthermore, did you think I was going full ad? I tried to build defense because I was popping. But I couldn't farm, as I got flamed.....but going to fights got me further behind..... which made me die faster.... which increased my need for defense items and gold. Endless negative cycle.

I swear, jungle mains are so fragile, they get to play the easiest role in the game yet refuse to take advantage of it.

In a lot of videos I hear people say "This would be a free game if my jungler got a brain and just pitched a tent in my lane."

All you have to do is type in "Who is a content creator?" in the pre-game lobby. Then after that, camp their lane and collect some freelo. The only two times you should lose are if there's no content creator on your team, or if your enemy is using the same strategy.

It. Is. That. Simple

Just abuse the "mute" function dude. "mute all" in advance if you know you can't deal with this shit right now.

In low elo most people are bad, and many of those seem to think that everybody else is the problem. It's sad, but unfortunately trying to explain to your teammates why what you did was correct is often fruitless.

And then there's getting flamed for not warding enough as the support while the enemy team is being carried by their fed assassin mid/assassin jg AND a teamfight is always going down RIGHT NOW. Yeah, let me just walk off into the jungle,_ by myself_ because laners don't consider vision their problem, whilst a fed Rengar/Zed is on the loose and location unknown.

As Darius? Exploit your winning matchup to gain lane control, freezing before first recall to deny minions and pushing afterward to take turret plates. Chunk your opponent for mistake/ and kill them if they make too many. Exploit this lead to extend the cs difference, generate pressure, survive 1v2, and win 2v2. Use this snowballed lead to gain map control, playing so aggressively the enemy jungler must gank your lane or lose the turret, while your jungler freely takes Dragon and ganks other lanes.

You will emerge a 4/1/2 Darius up 20 cs and 3 plates, with Trinity Force when everyone else is finishing their first items. Rotate to bot lane and repeat this process with Rift Herald. The enemy must either devote a second person to stopping you or lose a turret, while your team takes the objective for free. Don’t go for montage plays. Once your team has taken Herald, time your splitpush to align with the summon, taking an inner or inhibitor turret or flanking for a dive.

At 20 minutes, you will be a 7/3/6 Darius outside their inhibitor turret, up 30 cs, 4 plates, and a solo turret. You will have Trinity Force, Mercury’s Treads, and Titanic Hydra while the enemy is just upgrading their boots. Splitpush botlane one more time, forcing the enemy to coin toss at Baron and lose an inhibitor or lose Baron. Use Baron to splitpush and end the game at 25 minutes.

And not a single one of them spent frontlining.

...You think I haven't tried that in gold? It only works at gold, because toplane has no objectives to go for. Aggressive fights into winning matchups works extremely well in gold, as the jungler doesn't apply pressure. However, the higher you go in elo, the more you realize that Darius has no dashes and mobility, and that he's easily exploited in ganks early game. If your reply is "then don't play aggressive early!", that counters all you say, and furthermore, if there is proper jungle pressure, I can't do much fighting without risking my life (even in winning matchups), especially with a gank heavy jungler like kayn who wants to be rhast.

The strat you listed only works if the enemy has no brains. The higher you climb, the more you realize juggernauts lose their niche, and become a worse and worse pick. They aren't useless, but it requires a different playstyle than what one might be used to. Being aggressive works, but its far more reliable to play juggernauts defensively in lane, while building a single offensive item with the rest being defense items.

Furthermore, this is a critique on my Darius, and while its incorrect, this post was created as a complaint on idiotic teammates, and thus, this entire argument is null and void.

Ifneth1 votes

And yet Darius is top-tier in Korean Plat+. So it’s not the champion, who excels at turning ganks into double kills when fed, or my elo, which you looked up before this post because you didn’t have a better argument.

Playing “aggressively” or “defensively” can be a helpful mindset, but it’s no substitute for actually making decisions in game. Playing aggressively does not mean overextending without wards, dueling or diving when the jungler is not around and a countergank could smash you, etc. That’s taking pointless risks that could have been avoided by placing a ward and manipulating the wave to bounce before it expires or seeing your opportunity coming and pinging for the jungler to hover you.

Playing defensively does not mean avoiding trades and duels entirely, especially as Darius, or building way off meta just to know you won’t die. Juggernauts are better off building AD rather than resistances to clear waves, take turrets, help objectives, and kill opponents before being killed than building resistances and hoping to survive.

The following is true at all elos: your jungler is no better at jungling than you are at laning. It’s easy to blame the jungler after dying in lane, thinking he should have somehow prevented this. By that standard, you could have, too. No laner should need jungler intervention just to survive the lane. They may take a cs deficit, but any matchup is survivable.

This isn’t a critique of your Darius, either. Any snowball splitpush champion can run away with the game like that. Renekton, Kled, Aatrox, Yorick, even Garen. It’s not about mechanical execution but the fundamentals, such as winning trades or dueling while warded to force the enemy jungler to gank over vision, wasting his time and netting your team a free dragon.

The mistake here is that you try to listen to teammates.

Here is a tip, just because you are on the same team doesn't mean your teammates are no enemies.
