The new Black Cleaver might be the end (maybe) of the Tank Meta

4/23 PBE Update: The Black Cleaver Icon, Purple Animated Victory/Defeat, Mark/Dash sfx, and more

Black Cleaver is currently being buffed on the PBE See here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XUIiSmIC5Ow/VTmeMKdy_RI/AAAAAAAAoqw/uVyooycV8zU/s1600/tbc.jpg

CDR is being buffed from 10% -> now 20% Flat Armor Pen is being removed, but the stacking percent Armor shred is being buffed significantly, making BC a more viable Late Game core. AD being reduced from 50 -> 40 (meh) Base HP is being doubled: 200 Health -> 400 Health EDIT: I didn't even notice the Rage passive is baked in as well.

This new change to the CDR, in my opinion, might radically change the builds of many champions, specifically ones like Wukong and Pantheon, champions that are known to be Tank shredders. (Maybe even some AD carries.) Not only that, but the new changes to the Armor Shred would make any Sion main shit their pants.

Cinderhulk will still be Cinderhulk, but damn does this feel good.

I don't know if it'll mean the complete cessation of the tank meta, but yeah, this will make fighters a lot stronger.

Also, it's pretty old news, tbh, been on PBE a couple weeks now at this point.

I've known this for a while myself, but I know a lot of people don't keep up with the PBE. And I hadn't really looked at the item until now so I didn't realize how big of a deal it was >_>

I'd totally say it's easy first-buy status if it goes to live like this. I'm guessing they'll probably nerf it to 10% CDR within a patch or 2 of release, just because it probably offers a bit too much for its relatively low price and super nice build path.

Considering APs have literally three 20% cdr reduction items, I don't see it happening.

Well, APs are essentially 100% spell damage unless they buy nashor's or lich bane, so it's much more common that they'll need to reach 40% CDR, while ADs always have that 1:1 AD ratio on their autoattacks to fall back on. That's also why we don't have any really strong mana sustain items for ADs.

And I'm not saying such a change will necessarily be fair, just that I expect it will happen. I'd love to keep that 20% just as much as the next fighter main.

Personally i was so happy with the changes. There isn't any strong items with cd for the AD champions I play. but i dont think it will end the tank meta, just making it less oppressing.
