Is it just me, or is Deathfire Touch a bit weak?

Really.

20% AP (the same as the old spellblade mastery combined with a Nashors) over 3 seconds. On AOE and DOT spells, it deals 10% AP over 1.5 seconds.

Honestly, I can barely notice it.

Compare it to the others in its tree 15% healing off of crits and gain attack speed. 3-8 physical damage onhit, stacking up to 10 times (up to 30-80 damage)

I use it on Malzahar and other DoT champions like Karthus.

I also use it on Kha'Zix. It is not that better than Thunderlord's Decree, but it allows me to get the 7% armor penetration. Also, Kha'Zix has to stay on a battle more than other assassins anyway, so he can take better advantage of this mastery. His Q is also single-targeted, allowing me to take more advantage of the mastery.

If your champion has a lot of upfront burst, it is better to take Thunderlord's Decree.

It add a 10% ap ratio to all your spells. (20% if you have single target poke). That's better than the 3% increased damage 21 point mastery in offence after you get a decent amount of ap. It's especially good with DOT champions, since it is applied each tick of damage like liandry's.

Yes, and this mastery within Echo of Ludens is one of the reasons why they nerfed all the AP, they don't know what to do...
