It's not about how many champions are banned.

It's about how of the enemies intended picks you ban.

And theres a huge flipping difference here folks! You can ban 50 champs but so long as you don't ban out whom the enemy plans to play, they don't mean JACK SHIT. Sure you prevented 50 champions from entering the game, but you did nothing to impeded the enemy from getting their picks.

It's so simple, in the ban phase you want to eliminate picks that the enemy is going to play so they cant play them, and hence you get an advantage by taking away their power picks and forcing them to compromise. Every ban you make that doesn't land in that basket is WORTHLESS and is a FAILED BAN.

Not that anyone is going to tell you that you failed the ban anyhow in the 6-ban system, or even if you succeeded a ban unless you banned my champion, because I sure as hell am going to throw down in /all "You banned my champ you asshat."

The new 10 ban system is going to tell you when you fail though, because when you get a duplicate, it means BOTH TEAMS DID NOT INTEND TO PICK THAT CHAMP EITHER WAY, and in hence, it is a failed ban because you did not ban out an intended pick. It is wasted, you're right, but not like it was wasted before when if you banned a champion the enemy also wanted to ban, you basically did them a favor and saved them a failed ban. BOTH TEAMS ARE EQUALLY PUNISHED IN THE 10-BAN SYSTEM.

If you still cant get over that you could have just banned a different champion and let the enemy ban it instead, you are stupid. You banned who you did and you shouldn't benefit from the enemy failing a ban, and vice versa. That was incredibly unhealthy.

The 10-ban system is infinitively better, and gives you everything you wanted, more room to ban out more champions and it simplifies the banning phase a shit ton while also granting more strategy that was previously just ban whoever is OP.

I repeat, It's not about how many champions you can ban, its about how much potential you have to ban out the enemy's intended picks, and if you can't count, five is more than 3.

I think it's stupid you can duplicate ban.

So you would rather have... what?

Buddy, having 10 bans always is the same thing as having 2 bans, 8 bans, 95 bans, 42 bans, as long as every ban fails, the fact that they are giving us the chance to reach 10 potentially successful bans, is way better only 6.

The only difference you have an issue with the feeling that you wasted a ban.

YOU PROBABLY WASTE YOUR BAN IN MORE OF YOUR GAMES THAN YOU ACTUALLY SUCCESSFULLY BAN AN ENEMIES CHAMP IN THE 6-BAN SYSTEM, BUT NO ONE TELLS YOU THAT.

Depends.

Even if Joe isn't going to play "Champion X", getting them off the board still is good enough.

People just don't like dealing with certain champions.

Getting them off the board is exactly why the 10 ban system benefits you. You get a choice, you don't have to feel pressured to ban the OP ones or try to force the enemy to ban it before you so you can get the extra ban. It's a risk you take when every ban is simultaneous.

Getting champions off the board is fine, if you feel like your pick will be safer and banning out potential counter picks, especially for higher you are on the picking order, then do it. The only people who really shouldn't worry about being counter picked are like the last 2 in each team. In which case, be my guest and ban the OPs, for all I care if you cant find a way to beat the OPs then either they are to strong and Riot does need to nerf them, or you are just unwilling for some god forsaken reason to play a different champ.

My view differs, Screw what the enemy intends to play as its information you don't have. I would rather see folks communicate and show champ intent with teammates then use bans to remove problems for their team. Because this is my view I will be happy to see enemy duplicate bans as it removes 1 of their bans for what could have been one of your teams champions. Having your champ banned or picked first is still gonna be a bummer but its something one should already be used to if you have played enough games and unrelated to the new 10 ban system.

Man. Imagine if, by sheer coincidence, every legend you were good at was banned. That would suck so much...

More potential bans does also mean that, but thats what a lot of players want with the expanding champion pool.

The enemy has 5 bans that can go against you, your team has 4 that can(assuming they are not banning your hovered, if hovered, but rather your secondaries unless you tell them.)

If the enemy bans out an entire role that your in, yeah that sucks. But that is strategy.

I'm actually waiting for this system before I make my final assessment despite how good it looks on paper, because I could be bat shit wrong because people are unpredictable.

I rather have ban system like on LCS, no duplicates. Also even if noone wanted to pick, lets say, Yasuo or Lee constantly banning them will make Riot realise there is something wrong and will nerf or rework them.

So you think that having more champions banned is better just flat?

So having the potential to miss just one champion from one champion ticks you the wrong way even if it so happens you have 5 duplicate bans that those are all failed bans anyhow and basically mean nothing to either team?

If no one wants to see Yasuo or Lee sin, thats fine if both teams ban them out, it just means neither of them want to see it, and having a high rate of duplicate bans probably means something like you say, however 10-bans is still a superior system as it gives you the potential to get more successful bans while also simplifying the ban phase and creating more strategy, like targeted role banning or just banning out counters, all are perfectly fine strategies now.

I have 0 faith in the fact that 10 bans can really change the way bans were always considered ("Ban whoever we were said it's OP"). You just ban more champs, and that's good because it's more likely that champs that should have never existed (Yasuo LeeSin ) in the first place will be rightly rot even longer in permabanned hell where they belong. Too bad that we will have to wait almost 50% more time to get a game...

But how would I know what they are gonna pick?

You essentially said, "It doesn't matter how many abilities you use if none of them hit." Won't know unless I try.
