This champ is a fucking monster in lower elos. Which is most of the playerbase experience. He is a beginner champ, he takes literally zero skill. He should not be able to dominate melee champs so easily. You cant trade into him because he hits you with a silence then by the time you can respond he pops w for a RIDICULOUS amount of damage reduction. An easy champ like this should never be doing so well. Imagine if they just buffed ashe a shit ton and you were just getting one shot by volleys. Sounds pretty dumb right? Nerf this little shit , or change him

Out of all the juggernauts that were reworked during the Juggernaut update, Garen is probably the second worst in terms of design right after Morde and before Skarner (Darius, despite being strong, has a clear gameplay identity and a fairly synegistic kit).

Garen's lack of resource, passive, and W make me believe he is some kind of passive/farming champion, but his Q, E, and R make him seem more like a lane bully. Not to mention several caveats from long ago like how Garen's spin could crit (a remnant from when Youmuu's Ghostblade and Trinity Force actually had crit) just don't make sense now.

However, I can't really speak on how to fix him without being biased other than to start with merging W active with R so that R works like Urgot's R (active then active again) and to maybe make his passive less oppressive early to mid game in exchange for being decent late game.

Honesly I think Garen is fine the way he is. I mean Garen is a classic champion for new players to work with. WHat Garen needs his a fucking VU. His shoulders his bigger than his fucking head. He looks awful for a champion.
