Gnar is an unfair champion

Gnar

He just has it all.

  1. No mana costs (so he can keep using abilities at no cost)
  2. He can kite and poke you into oblivion
  3. Insane mobility with his jumps (allows him to escape or close the gap and burst too if he wants)
  4. Insane Tankiness even without items
  5. AD champ so you can't leave him, he'll push your towers down
  6. Insane CC means he's very useful in team fights later so you can't outscale him either

People say... "Just dodge his boomerang and out-trade him." The problem is that in Top most of his match-ups are melee. And melee champs can't trade back against ranged very well unless the minion wave is just right. Otherwise you end up taking more damage even though you landed multiple abilities on him because on your way back to your side of the lane you'll get hit by minion aggro on top of his auto-attacks. Also, his boomerangs are mana-less which means he can just try again and again and again.

He's fundamentally broken and unfun to play against. And because he has long range AND can close the gap with his ability; if he gets so much as 1 kill he can keep abusing you with very little chance of you coming back.

Match-ups like this are why I stay away from Top...

Good point, but if you have a jungler nearby and you make him waste his hop then it's a free gank or free summoner for your top laner to use to his advantage.

His early game isn't very good, and his late game is even worse.

He and a core item of his are being nerfed, chill.

Cause 15 dmg is so much right? I don't play top too much but i'm pretty sure when you're a tank 15 dmg doesn't matter too much...idk though

Singed Me on early game is quite annoying but once I gett zz rot and Boot Mercs he becomes quite ez even if he has Frozen Mallet just W on your tower and E him and yes I like playing laner Singed, only proxy vs Darius

He's...a little unfair. Almost no kill-window. Mini-form? Out runs you. Mega-form? Can't 1v1.

No it's more that mega form has very little consistent damage, easier to kite, has a cool down and mini form is easily bursted, has a lengthy cool down on his escape while his speed boost requires in one way or another for you to be fighting someone. Plus missing a q boomerang extremely painful on gnar early on.

He is strong right now, understandably in need of a nerf after watching Impact on C9 pretty much dominate everyone top lane with him during playoffs. Mallet one the larger issues as the item is really only ever purchased on Gnar and its component item 3052 further his scaling before he finishes mallet. Like people have mentioned, he dominates all current melee match ups (exception being Gangplank who is often banned) if you have descent positioning and map awareness. When up against Gnar you are practically forced to play something off meta. I can see them putting a cooldown on hyper procs or changing the base damage on it as well as the movement speed.
