As a Garen main I will definitely agree with your friend. Most Riven's I see just end up feeding me while trying to spam their skills and be OP, but then there's the occasional Riven who actually gives me a run for my money. They don't just spam, they use every skill with a clear and well thought out purpose.

It's like this with every champion really. Anyone can pick up a champion and do well, however there is always a difference between someone like that and someone who has taken the time to master a champion.

Please, list champions that take more skill than Riven, and note that the vast majority of them are not bruisers, fighters or carries.

I don't have a Riven main friend, I don't care about the state of her power, I can't even remember the last time I laned against one. I just wanted to use that video in a thread because it makes me laugh.

I just made this thread on a whim to dick around. You're trying to force this idea that I'm foundering or whatever, and I really have no idea why you think that. Yes, there was no argument in the beginning, and there still exists no argument to win. I take plenty of things seriously, including trolling, and it's fun to make fun of failed examples.

I'm just strolling by, these threads of riven are as bad as the solo q players that blame everyone else for not winning :P although I would say for skill Poppy is one of the most difficult to be good with. Because like riven the majority of players who try her will refund their ip rather then learn how to play the champion. knowing when to dive a turret how to dive and what items are best for each game can be extremely difficult and can decide whether a lane is won, lost, or if a game can be carried. knowledge is important, as is roaming and part of a champions skill comes with planning for each situation. Making sure wards are placed and giving a hand when needed because everyone of your deaths in league is your own fault; and most team deaths could be saved with proper vision and roaming. something a good poppy always considers :)

i love these threads. Bad kids who can't accept that Riven requires actual knowledge and skill to play. I bet every single one of them would play Riven and feed horribly

That's pretty accurate overall, albeit a bit of a wall of text. Poppy's current design does take a good bit of understanding, albeit it's more learning timing than mechanics.

Interesting to note, they're relaunching Poppy. Like, full on Sion/Karma level rework, trying to keep the feeling of the champion with a differently-designed kit. Which probably means she's losing the broken-as-hell passive and anti-counter-play ultimate.

well, I'm not sure when they will relaunch her. Perferably not dead or a tank like sion because she is really great the bursty/ sustain girl she is, but her ultimate isn't broken unlike tryndamere she can't activate it and survive everytime fight cc can be a real bother and one of the worst is the warwick devour botrk who can 1 shot you with his ultimate, her passive makes you take less damage but not from multiple hits, they actually just nerfed regen poppy its most likely a bug, but they made hp regen runes heal as bonus health, so on your first back as poppy toppy against fiora instead of buying 2 regen for tiamet and having 44 hp regen at level 4 you'l have 32 hp regen which is huge and is game changing in top lane as poppy so i prefer just staying in the jungle with my runeglaive of awesomeness :P

Every time Poppy takes damage, it calculates. If the damage is over 10% of her current HP, then the rest is halved. The thing is, I'm not entirely sure if it takes into account all of the damage separately, or if it actually calculates each source of damage. If the second one is true, then that would explain why BotRK is so good against her.

...huh, that's a really good question, actually.

Anyway, I honestly believe her ultimate is worse than Tryndamere's. Just because a Warwick can pull off a combo that might kill her early, assuming she didn't pick up a Mercurial because Warwick was on the enemy team, doesn't mean her ultimate isn't insane. It quite literally lacks counter-play, because you can target one person on the team, then kill anyone else because you're immune to everyone else.

there is plenty of counter play as her E can be dodged she can be kited, and id much rather have poppy ult then a tryndamere ultimate, I don't want "to die" when i fight people i want to engage or disengage to get out when i feel needed it's a higher cooldown then tryndamere's and as far botrk goes it is a nice item, but only if you can sustain yourself against poppy which is pretty hard because she can build ad or ap therefor she can always counter you no matter how you build resistance, but like a riven everything counters her too, its just getting ahead a kill or 2 to get rolling :)
