How would two ranked playlists sound to you? [Dynamic Que Idea]

Bear with me, this idea just came to me a few seconds before I decided to make this post.

So whether you love it or hate it, Dynamic Que has been on the minds of players since this season began. From some lucky instant matches to insanely long, hourly wait times. We've all felt the dreg while waiting for matches, and I'm sure many players have felt the disdain that sometimes comes with it, such as being grouped with pre-mades and finding that they pick on you even though they've perhaps made far more mistakes than you have, bully you out of your lane because they didn't get what they want. On the opposite end you have trollers and quitters who are mad because they either didn't take the time to learn a secondary or even tertiary role, and got stuck with something else, i.e fill into jungle when they're primarily a top laner and ADC secondary.

I've observed a couple of things in regards to this.

Primarily, when things are good, people enjoy the Dynamic Que. Most of the success and enjoyment of DQ is seen at lower ELOs (Bronze, Silver, Gold) primarily because it's easy to find a match, and you might be challenged by the enemy team or you might even do well. Sometimes you'll encounter players who know who to defuse situations that could cause you or others to go flame or into tilt, or you run into great teammates who always have each other's back when plans or tactics go tits up but you don't suffer the consequences and can recover quickly. The same can be said for the opposite, however that's more down to personal attitude more than anything else.

On the other side of the spectrum, at high ELO, it's far more difficult. Long wait times, a plethora of trolls and quitters because apparently the game is instantly loss if a teammate gives first blood, and general angst and disinterest in the game itself. While teamwork is more co-ordinated, things can shatter instantly and people's attitudes shift from the game to replying back to that message that your tilted teammate left. It's tiring, boring and lonesome waiting all that time to find a game only to have it spoiled by someone's attitude.

What if there was a separate division of ranked ques, one for low ELO, and one for high ELO. Obvously low ELO players wouldn't be able to access the high ELO playlist without reaching the requirements. While high ELO players certainly could enter into the low ELO playlists, it wouldn't be worth their time if they ended up spending hours just to get one game, compared to a que that was completely dedicated to them instead. Chances are that matchmaking might even proceed faster since the flux on the servers for matchmaking would be cleanly divided.

Obviously, as I said this is a spark of an idea and hasn't been properly refined yet, but what would players at both low ELO and high ELO think of the idea?

So rank can mean even less than it already does? Why the hell would I volunteer to have diamond players in my silver game? What purpose would rank have at all if it came down to "which diamond player did the best' every game? Why would a Diamond player have any interest in playing "ranked" silver games?

Sorry, but this is a ridiculously terrible idea

You kind of answered your own points with your last one.

As I stated, It wouldn't be worth the time of someone at Diamond playing at low ELO games. The system would be constantly trying to match that players MMR rating to other players on the same level, more or less just even finding a game would take far longer since there would be players far and few searching in a Low ELO que. It wouldn't be worth the time and wait, when there's a secondary system already dedicated to players of that rating. I'm in Silver myself, but apart from smurfs, I've never encountered anyone higher than gold in the games I've played.

What purpose would rank have at all if it came down to "which diamond player did the best' every game?

Isn't the point of playing ranked games a competition between players of who can do the best anyways?

What are you talking about? How would this "separate high ELO queue" magically add more Diamond players to get matched against? It would change literally absolutely nothing except now they have the option of being queued with lower ELO players

I'm not saying it would magically add more players to be matched against. I'm saying that it would benefit them since they would find quicker games to be matched with players of their skill level if there was a separate que dedicated to higher elo players.

And I already stated it wouldn't be worth their time going versus low elo players. They're not exactly going to gain massive LP if even the system knows it's a game they're going to win so it's not as if it'd be worth the 5 extra LP compared to going versus people in the same or higher brackets than themselves.

Again, how would it add quicker queues? The ranked system is already set up to match them against people of their skill level. It's not going to magically add more people so queue times are quicker

All you're doing is introducing some arbitrary matchmaking wall? I assume somewhere between gold and plat? That makes no sense.
