I think the most important debate: 100% defense vs 100% offense

In the current game of league, this debate is so flipping one-sided that there is zero point to going to the other side. 100% damage always completely destroys 100% defense and that isnt how shiz should work. If I am building resistance to their damage, and they counter it with penetration, or what have you, thats fine, but they should also be taking max damage from an ability or whatever. If an adc or kat or whatever can kill a tank in under 3-4 seconds, then the tank should be able to kill the damage dealer just as fast. 100 + 0 = 100, 0 + 100 = 100. The winner of the fight should be the one who outsmarts the other. Not because Riot as overly amplified damage to the point of 3 second teamfights and trying to get games over by the 15 minute mark. This still goes back to the "we need to shorten games more and more" and the only really way to do that, highly unbalance things to favor one side or the other so there is no tussle.

Tanks aren't meant to fight damage. They're meant to mitigate damage that would otherwise be directed to your own team's damage. You mitigate the damage so that your damage can neutralize their damage first and win the game. You don't destroy the nexus by tanking it, you don't destroy towers by tanking it, you don't take baron by tanking it, you don't take dragon by tanking it, you don't win a game by tanking them. You win by dropping health bars to 0, and that is not the tank's job.

That's why late game ADCs can 3 shot squishies but take many, many more shots for tanks. Tanks tend to come with heavy CC to be able to hold damage in place, not so the tank that CC'd them can kill them, but for your own damage to kill them.

The game has always been about dealing damage. It's damage carries that carry games. Tanks are just there to make sure it's your damage that survives to deal the damage.

Look at MMORPGS, WoW for example. The tanks are crucial, but they're not the ones bringing down the boss. The DPS are. The tanks are only there so that the enemy damage (Boss) doesn't wipe out your own damage. If that doesn't happe, your damage will wipe them out.

Same for MOBAs. Vayne can and will always annihilate tanks 1v1. Late game ADCs will always defeat tanks 1v1. Tanks aren't designed to fight. They're designed to initiate and CC. The damage is meant to be dealt by the carries.
