Like when reworking an item like Essence Reaver itself, do you also consider the risks of non-marksman buying this item? Shurelya was already a mistake to begin with, and ER is becoming a big threat when top laners starts building.

Boy I love being permastunned by Renekton with ER in a teamfight. You guys "definitely" thought about it.

They did. It was something they were worried might happen, though Renek is a bit of an edge abuse case due to how his mechanics work.

Ezreal being the same right now with his item 3040 item 3042 builds, and yet, Riot has done absolutely nothing about it.

Ezreal has abused almost every single item in the game, if not every item. Reworking him is pretty much the only way to stop him from abusing items.
