Veigar is not that weak early though, his kit is so safe only a very few select champions can punish him early.

Champions with actually weak early games are countered by most everything in lane, Katarina or Nasus for example.

Yes, she is one of the games weakest early game champions. Countered in lane by almost everything while having the second lowest health pool of all melee champions and the 6th lowest health regeneration of all champions (she does not build vamp or lifesteal, she probably recalls for health more than any other champion in game). Katarina also has some of the lowest base damages in the game, her (w) sinister steel does less damage than one of her auto attacks (on an ap champ). Her ap ratios are also pretty bad on everything that is not her ultimate.

The only people who think Katarina does not have a weak early game are Karthus mains.

No hes not! Hes a mage with GOOD BASE STATS, AWESOME AP SCALING and INFINITE AP POSSIBILITIES! He has NO drawback. Nothing.

He doesnt suffer low base damage to pay with his infinite AP. He doesnt suffer high CDs even though having the STRONGEST non ultimate spell in the game in his kit, he doesnt suffer low AP scaling to make up for INFINITE AP!

Technically Morde has the highest scaling non ult ability atm, with his q doing about 300% ap and 500% total AD scaling...

Quit talking out of your ass, he has an utter shit early game, he's reliant on E to trade with anyone in lane, he's still an immobile mage who can get deleted by mobile champs easily up until late game, he takes some time to be relevant, he is dependant on farming, he's also squishy and his kit doesn't call for health items like Rylais, he has drawbacks, in his current state some of his drawbacks are very minimal, which is why his buffs should be reverted, but come on, quit acting like you just saw him in LCS and scream "op! op!"

He suffers early game, his q damage is really low to last hit with early and his mana pool is a joke, just play on the offensive and deny him from farming q, then you have your team go aggressive and force team fights as much a possible, it will deny him even more time to farm

"Low damage" LOL! Do you even KNOW the skills of the champ? This guy runs a freaking 260% AP scaling 1080 Base damage rotation PLUS 80% or the enemys AP! And dont get the shit "But his W is soooooo hard to hit" when he has the BEST AOE STUN in the game on short Cooldown!

Can you actually name an ability that has higher base damage at level 1? I'm looking through several champion kits. I've looked at Darius, Mundo, Lux, Syndra, Cho'gath, Riven, Karthus, and Katarina. Most champions abilities at rank 1 have less than 80 base damage. Only a few reached that mark (Mundo, Cho, and Karthus). A Renekton using his Fury to enhance his Q exceeds it by ten. Lee Sin exceeds it with his Q. Jax can get 100 base damage on his E if someone auto attacks him enough.

In general though, no, it seems 80 base damage is actually pretty fucking good for a rank 1 ability.

i don't see how noting other champions with less base damage disproves my point

yes 80 damage is higher than most champions level 1 abilities

that doesn't mean it's still bad for farming, especially two minions which is what you're trying to aim for

in general most level 1 abilities do shit damage, like, all of them

I think Veigar is known for his burst. Sooooooo, here is what I'm saying:

Nerf his burst only a little.
Make his stun circle smaller, as well as its cast range. This way it will be easier to get hit by burst moves, but it will be much harder for veigar to land it.
Change his Q. There is no way to nerf it lightly, so just rework it.
Make him squishy af. Squishier then Sona. People like Olaf (his ult) will just steam roll through him.
