How the Hell do I get out of Bronze

Vizulix··2 votes·34,499 views

Hi, I want some tips on how to get out of Bronze. This is my first season playing ranked and I was placed in Bronze 4 after going 4 and 6 in my placements. I quickly climbed through the ranks and got to my Bronze 1 promos. I lost those Promos and spiraled down to Bronze VI. I am now on the verge of being demoted to Bronze V. I know how to build my champions and I can farm decently. I always have a 1:1 kda. But I cannot for the life of me climb out. I know I have the skill to but I just can't. May anyone help me?

Edit: I'm now in Bronze I. I've hit my silvers promo once already! I see the light!

This is the real shit that will help you, not some BS useless advices.

Play ONE easy non adc champ/non hard supp. You don't "play any champ you want" like some people said. No, you play ONE easy and strong champ. Easy ! Not Vayne, Yasuo, Azir etc ! Something easy to play with big solo carry potential.

Champs I've selected for you : Annie, Chogath, Darius, Garen, Morgana, Tryndamere, Vi, Wukong, Xin Xhao

Playing any champ you want to carry bronze is for smurfs not for a genuine bronze player.

I said not botlane because its not reliable being paired with a random bronze. If you adc your supp might suck and you will get camped, if you supp your adc might suck. If you supp go for carrying supps. No full tank supp or full help supp like Janna. But it's better to take a solo lane or jungle.

Always play something with good dmg (in any lane) so you can get solo kills and kill steal.

Focus on cs'ing and staying alive. I mean seriously, actively focus on cs'ing and staying alive above all else. Everytime you get an objective or a kill, back and reset. You don't do TP ganks or fancy plays. You stay in your lane, farm and push. You can gank but don't expect follow up. You gank only when you can get yourself fed, never to help any loosing lane. You take ignite mid or top always.

You take all the kills and all the farm you can. If you supp you take the kills but not the farm (early on) unless your adc has proven to be moronic and is unrepentent then you also take the farm.

If you jungle you focus on farming and controlling buffs. You only gank when you can get a kill. You don't help people because they asked you, you mute them instead if they spam. And you always take the kill during the gank (obviously) and then you tax the lane always (people in bronze can't freeze properly anyway).

People in bronze farm so poorly and make so bad mistakes that if you are farmed/high level with xp (because you stayed alive) they will literally walk into you (with no clue that they will die) and then you just click on them with your easy farmed champ and kill them.

You focus on getting YOURSELF fed and you push objectives. You don't talk to anybody there is no point. You mute anybody that shows signs of tlting or bad manners. Use pings a lot (spam them when needed) to bait your team.

That's it. Welcome to higher elo.

Thanks for your advice. I main top lane Nasus and Mid Laner Veigar so I know the importance of farming.

Sîndragösa3 votes

I advice against these because they are weak early game. Veigar also lacks dmg (not kidding) because skillshots are delayed. Actually Veigar is the poor man's Syndra. He is easier to play but has MUCH less potential and is not nearly as versatile while fullfilling a similar role in the game. I love Syndra, she is my main but I can't recommand her because she is very hard to play (immobile + skillshots + squishy)

Nasus is okay if you can freeze early and farm well BUT you usually can't afford to play lategame champs, people might feed and give up or shut down mentally before you come online. Your really want someting with good late (bronze players can't push their advantage and close the game) but not shit early (see my champ recommandations, they can get fed and they are not weak early).

If you play Nasus don't go E max fancy build, you go Q and you chill early (low elo people won't punish you for Q farming) then you splitpush all game because this is how you will get fed, since you have constant access to Q stacks, gold and xp, and you pressure the map. I wouldn't even take E before lv 8 at least, it's unecessary and will burn your mana pool, making you get less Q stacks. You only W the dude if he goes ham on you or if you are trying to kill him. All the time just go in last hit (with Q if it's up) then back away. Once you get rolling you will make them panic because you have 500 stacks and dealing more then half their HP with one Q and pushing their towers, they come 1 or 2 you kill them, if more come you get away. Always take sprint + TP on Nasus, and use TP to go back in lane (NEVER TP gank).

FreeVolibear2 votes

I love how you say Veigar does no dmg and is not as versatile... If you gate properly, move correctly and time your event horizons (ult is point and click so not nearly as destructive as a well farmed event horizon). I am currently wrecking my way out of bronze with Veigar.

Kirai Deji2 votes

This is true. Veigar is way better and scales infinitely as long as you farm. He is anti ap. He would be a much better pick than annie mid.

Some of this advice is good, some is bad.

Probably the worst advice here is based in the assumption that EVERYONE you will be playing with is trash and should be ignored to focus exclusively on yourself. You do NOT need to always play a carry, you do NOT need to always take everything, all the time. A selfish player is a bad team player, and a bad team player is a bad LoL player. Yes, a lot of people (sometimes the majority of people) ARE bad, can't be counted on for anything and should be ignored- but that doesn't mean you need to be a prick to EVERYONE. And sometimes it helps to talk to people, although don't converse with them- just make sure they know what you're doing. The sentiment that ONLY you can win every game single-handedly and anything that inhibits you from carrying should be disregarded is unrealistic and honestly rather childish. Yes, you are the only person you can truly count on, but that doesn't mean you can win 1v5.

Also, playing a kill-steal focused champion like Darius has a major drawback- if you have all the team's kill gold, that you means you shoulder an equal amount of the team's responsibility. If you fuck up and die, you've just deprived your team of a LOT more than 20% of their effective power. You need to be able to handle that pressure, because if you're 16/12/3 you don't get to lambast your 2/3/18 teammates for not doing enough- you're the noob who's taken all the gold and wasted it by being DEAD all the damn time. Any game shorter than 50 minutes where you get over 10 deaths on any champ that isn't a tanky initiator is a bad game, no matter HOW many kills you get. One really good bit of advice he gave is make sure you don't die. While you're dead, your value to the team is zero (unless you have a Redemption off cooldown).

Do NOT play exclusively one champ, whatever you do. You MUST be able to play at LEAST two champions in two separate roles, although I recommend being able to play to at least a competent level at least 2 champions in all 5 roles (10 different champs). You must nominate two roles when you queue for ranked and even then you'll sometimes get autofilled into something you don't want (unless you're a support main). When this happens, you CANNOT just say "I can only play Garen top, give me top or I feed". And sometimes your main will be banned away from you. What are you gonna do then, cry about it?

If you're going support, don't just mindlessly take a "damage support". They don't fit every situation and, if you're actually serious about winning, sometimes you HAVE to pick to fit the team. In my last game my team picked Corki mid, Garen top, Shyvana jungle and Twitch ADC, so they were very lucky that I picked Alistar support. If I'd picked something retarded like Brand support the team would have folded like damp cardboard with only a single knockback (Shyvana ult) and a single slow (Poison Cask) spread across 4 champions for CC and no initiation worth a shit. Yi would have fucking killed everybody. And besides, no matter what anyone tells you, "carrying from support" is a fantasy. If your ADC is shit, you lose, unless the enemy ADC is just as shit (which admittedly is a possibility). Try NOT to take kills away from your ADC if they can easily and safely pick them up, just don't let that stop you from kill securing if necessary. Unless your lane partner is a TOTAL noob, a kill on a Jhin or an Ashe is worth a hell of a lot more than a kill on a Zyra support.

DON'T automatically take Ignite mid and top always. Never "automatically" do ANYTHING. Honestly, I think Ignite is a very overrated spell. You only take Ignite on a top laner if you are hyper-aggressive, intending to get a level 2 or 3 all-in for first blood, like Riven or Renekton, or if you're up against a MASSIVE heal tank like Mundo. Personally I ALWAYS take Teleport on a top laner because you simply can't split push properly without it, plus it makes it much easier to recall, heal up and shop then get back to lane during the lane phase without missing multiple waves of minions, but like I said, always stay flexible. If you always do one thing and only one thing "because that's what's done" then "what's done" will also include LOSING. Ignite is also wasted on some mid-laners, such as Xerath (who's so long-ranged that he should ideally never be in range to cast it) and some need a defensive summoner like Exhaust, Barrier or even Cleanse if they're in a matchup against a 100-0 burst midlaner who only needs to hit one CC to kill you. Katarina will always take Ignite because she needs the resets so badly, but if you're AGAINST a Katarina a better pick may be Exhaust.

When jungling, do NOT only gank when you see a kill. Farm as much as you can, but look to be where you're needed. If the enemy has grouped up to push top lane with 3 players, you're in the area and you think you and your top laner could hold it in your current condition, get your ass up there. You won't get a kill unless they make a clumsy dive, but you might keep your team from giving up turret first brick gold long enough for the rest of your team to get it instead where they took a player from. Never gank for a losing lane (it's a good way to give the lane opponent a DOUBLE kill instead of a single, especially if the lane is losing because your solo laner is a moron) but if the enemy jungler is constantly camping a lane you should at least consider looking for an opportunity to countergank. At the very LEAST you should be taking all of his jungle away from him while he's camping. Make sure you get vision in the enemy jungle wherever possible- while noobs think the support is responsible for 100% of a team's wards, a support can't get into the enemy jungle during the lane phase, so ANY chance of keeping track of where the enemy jungler is before he strikes lies with you.

He's absolutely right that focusing on farming is the shortest road to victory. If your CS is bad, YOU are bad. The gold you get from a standard kill is only worth I think roughly 10-20 minions (depending on which minions) so if you kill your lane opponent once but he outfarms you by 50 CS, he's kicking your noob ass. In the early game especially where teams don't have the leverage to take major objectives, kills are mainly useful to deny your opponent farm and make it easier for you to farm. They're not your main source of gold, and the biggest advantage they might give you is leeway to roam a bit.

Hey ! I have just seen your message. I will reply for he purpose of a friendly discution rather then arguing. There is no point in arguing, you are obviously knowledgeble. I'm not directing the following to you but to the OP and people in bronze who need help asap. I'm thinking from the POV of beginners (bronze players asking for help) my advices will help them much more because they need to learn the basics and learn to take care of themselves rather then blame the team or luck etc. You gott work with what you have and it's much much beter to adaopt a carry mindset then let other people direct the flow of the game.

I think your mindset is better once you get better teammates. However in bronze I think it's relly free for all. Yes I would assume everybody sucks completly in low elo. If soemone prouves themselves great maybe I can trust them a little more and give them more things/take less of their thinsg for myself. But honnestly even if you see someone do a smart thing, unless they are smurfing and try harding they might loose their brain 20 min later. Because most low elo players don't know at all how to play outside the laning phase. They will get killed and throw. This makes investing ressources on them not worthwhile. This is why I advice taking ll for yourself, but obviously this assumes you are relly try harding, not going to get caught or do stupid things and throw yourself. Yes it is a lot of responsability. If you take all the kills and then get caught, die and throw yes you lost the game not the guys that were starved in your team.

"Do NOT play exclusively one champ, whatever you do. You MUST be able to play at LEAST two champions in two separate roles, although I recommend being able to play to at least a competent level at least 2 champions in all 5 roles (10 different champs)" -> That's way too much for a noob that can't get out of bronze. 10 champs in 5 roles are you serious ? If they knew how to play ONE champ in one role properly they wouldn't be in bronze. Start small and increase over time.

The reason I recommand ignite by default for solo lanes isn't because you need to be hyper aggressive (on the contrary, go aggressive only when it makes sense) but because people make mistakes constantly and it allows to capitalize on them. TP has another issue then not helping win your lane : it gives the temptation to do fancy plays like tp ganks. That's something bronze should NEVER do they don't know when and how to TP gank properly and most the time it will be a bad play even if they end up getting something out of it. Most the time the optimal play was stay top, push and get fed/take structures here.

People in bronze need to learn the fundamentals by playing easy champs, they don't need to do ANY fancy play. You can easiliy get out of bronze simply by being decent at csing/trading/warding/map awereness while playing a simple champ with a cookie cutter build.

I made it to Silver last season but before that I climbed to higher Bronze and fell back to B5 multiple times. I've even spent a week losing games at B5 0 LP. That's how bad it was. It takes time and practice. I still made it by the end of the season.

First, stop playing Teemo

Second, you build according to how the game is going, not because you look up how to build your Champion in some shitty site

Third, GIT GUD (ALL DIAMOND+ PLAYERS SAY THIS) so yeah

GarthBrooksXD3 votes

You can play any champ you want... I play teemo a lot in gold and people play in him challenger. If you really want to climb, find a few champs you love and "main" them so you can learn all about them and how to play their matchups.

Here's 3 easy tips for top lane to get u started on improving for a bronze player:

  1. Focus on last hitting creeps -- this is your main source of gold income, if you could hit 100 by 10 minutes you would have enough for a full item. Realistically you can shoot for 50-70 for a beginner though. Just don't put yourself in a position you might die or takes tons of damage just to last hit a creep.

  2. On first back buy a control ward and put it in the near jg bush. put ur yellow trinket in the enemy jg bush. Beware top is likely to be ganked around 3 min if the enemy jg starts bot side, so you need to ward up and temper ur aggression when the enemy jungler is near. Really try to keep track of where the enemy jg is as a top laner! It will let you make the decision on how aggressive you can play!

  3. You can build teemo a lot of different ways, but the recommended items are a disgustingly good build anyway, so just stick with those recommended items until you learn the game better.

Bonus: Be positive! Sometimes you just lose. Sometimes you win. Remain positive and have fun when you play! Mute the chat if it is negative. Never flame your team. It's hard, but makes all the difference.

Bonus bonus: Be a pimp and get all of teemo's skins and pick a skin you feel like best fits your lane matchup lul :) Make sure to be cute and a little mother fucker! Spam lvl 7 mastery when you kill or when you make a dumb play.

I find harder to play in in Silver 5 on my 2nd acc than Gold league my main acc. Not without a reason low leagues are called ELO HELL. Even if you put all your efforts and play outstandingly and carry your team, you still will lose number of games because of losers surrounding you. How to get out ? You have to main champ to consistently get S or at least A even when you losing (There is no excuse to get less than A when you losing, it's impossible to get less when you do well) . It's like bashing your head into the wall, but you will get through if you consistent in your high performance.

gap closer, repositioning tool and sometimes you just need to respond flash for flash. it's just overall more situationally diverse compared to heal.

when you take heal, you're just banking on the other guy to just stand there and attack u afk for 2-3 secs which might happen frequently in bronze.

Hi there ... i do understand you and here is a tips :)

I'am jinx main so my brother started League of legends this season , affter he done hes placement he were placed in b3 , he manage to get in b2 , but hard stuck + 18% win rate on hes account ...hes MMR is completly destroyed , losing -22LP , gain +16 lp ... You can't climb like that?! all bronze player say that , i know you can't because of your team mates feed,afk,etc... My brother told me , " I can't win , always my teammate grab me down " so i sayed well let's give a try .... i login to hes account and going for that flex quee to see how hard it is... sience i main jinx and poppy first he wont to copy me so he started playing those 2 champ ... he have 38% on jinx and 40% win rate on poppy , now first match started , i end up finish the game with 15/7/7 , second one win ... score 10/6/8 , the next one win 15/9/12 , the last one win 20/7/8 ... so i win all 4 match and i manange to get hes MMR kinda back he gain now 18+ lp and losing 18lp so it's 50/50 ....but the point is , if you really understand what to focus , how to farm , and wich lane you wont to main it will be easy for you to get out of bronze ....here is some prof.

First you can see the different of farm/dmg and items i made : Last match stats Second you can see the prof of those match : Prof image of stats

Now he started learn what hes doing wrong , because he founded out that hes not good to climb out of bronze ;)

Thanks for the tips though I kinda gave up. I don't want to play 1000 matches to climb out, that's around how much it takes for someone who has my winrate on my main btw. Have a nice day :D

I was once a Bronze 5 when i started ranked despite being korean, but that was because i had a shitty laptop with 10 fps. If u have a shitty laptop then u should fix that. Watch high elo players on youtube/streams and pay attention to how they almost always know when to take objectives and pretty much everything they do is to try and gain an opportunity to take an objective. Like honestly, killing an enemy champion only matters because of the opportunity it creates when they are dead.

The easiest example is whenever you get a kill on your lane opponent you should push the lane so that a bunch of your minions will die to their turret before they return so they lose a lot of exp and gold. Push quick and then you should go back and heal/buy.

For all the stuff about going for objectives watch some high elo players because there are tons of different situations for objectives.

**"Win the lane **Winning the lane is the most important aspect of the game if you want to get out of bronze.

WHY?

Because this will be the thing which will determine how the rest of the game goes.

The laneing phase doesn’t always determine how the game goes, but…

…I would say 95% of the time it does.

If you were only allowed to take one thing from this guide it would be knowing how to win the lane.

**Farm like a perfectionist **You need to have a really good farm rate compared to your enemy.

I’m talking about that minion gold or CS as it’s commonly known as.

So how do you farm?

It’s actually very straightforward… you need to last hit.

It sounds simple and it is simple.

HOWEVER…

There’s a lot more to it than the last hitting.

What I mean by this is there are a lot of variables that can determine if you last hit or not.

First of all, you can’t just come at a minion with full health and expect to kill it with one hit.

You need to wait for your minions to deal the majority of the damage and then hit it.

This is the most effective way to last hit.

Let your minions do the damage and you can pay attention to what the enemy champion is doing.

When you see that minion on really low health… hit that baby!

PRO TIP: Use your special abilities to secure minion kills.

**Freeze the lane correctly **What is freezing the lane?

Freezing the lane is simply dictating where the minion fight takes place. The freeze can take place next to your turret, in the middle of the lane or next to the enemy’s turret.

Why is freezing the lane important?

Freezing the lane is important because it allows you to dictate the pace of the lane. It can make the enemy laner overextend which makes him more prone to ganks. Allows you to be much safer from ganks Also, it allows you to deny your enemy farm which will hinder their gold.

JUICY TIPS:

If you’re a lot stronger than the enemy laner, you can run next to them to stop them from hitting your minions and getting gold. The enemy laner is also looking to one hit minions. So when you find your minion on very low health, see what the enemy laner is doing. So how do I freeze the lane?

Freezing the lane is actually very simple. Dealing more damage to the enemy than they’re doing to you will allow you to push your minions forward. Allowing your minions to be killed will push you back further to your turret.

KEEP IN MIND: If the enemy’s minion wave is gigantic and you have no minions to take the damage…

…you’ll take the damage if you’re trying to push the wave. So make sure you back off or able to take the damage.

**How do I make my freeze last longer? ** To maintain your freeze longer, you must balance both sides.

If your minion wave is dealing more damage, make sure you only get last hits on minions.

If the enemy wave is doing more damage, then make sure you thin out the wave to reduce the damage done to your minions.

Make sure you’re picking the right freeze.

If you’re constantly getting ganked, behind on CS, kills or predict the enemy will gank you…

…make sure you freeze the lane next to your turret.

If you jungler is about to gank your lane, this is also a good reason to let the enemy wave push towards you. Making your opponent overextend and giving you more time to kill them.

Fight in your minion wave and not theirs When you first hop into your lane, you will be at very low XP levels, little to no items and very weak early game.

This is perfectly normal.

When you want to get a kill or you’re forced by fight the enemy laner to fight, here’s what’s going to heavily impact your fight…

…minions.

It blows my mind how very few people pay attention to this.

Minions will be dealing a crap ton of damage early on.

If you get ganked by the enemy jungler and are forced into a 2 VS 1 battle…

…you can win it with the help of your minions.

That’s how much of an important roll minions will play.

When you’re about to dive in and attack your enemy, make sure you can tank the minions and secure the kill without dying.

You can also use this tactic if the enemy laner attacks you. Run to your minion wave and fight there.

This will dramatically increase your odds of winning.

Using your minions is a very simple tactic to secure kills or run safely away.

This tactic is very underused in bronze and no one pays attention to it.

So make sure you’re doing it.

**Be incredible at one champion **It’s critical that you pick one champion and master them.

WHY?

Because it’s going to make your life so much easier.

If you’re constantly picking completely different champions each game, you’re going to be mediocre at best with them.

HOWEVER:

If you pick one champion and keep playing them, you’ll find you know the ins and outs of them.

You’ll understand what that champion is good at and bad at. You’ll be able to understand which and what kind of champs they’re not very good playing against.

For example, if you pick Vladimir as a champ, he’s weak against Darious because Vladimir needs health to use his spells and Darious deals a lot of bleed damage.

With these two factors, the odds are heavily stacked against you.

Which champion do I pick?

It’s actually simpler than you think.

First of all, don’t pick champions that have in-depth, complicated playing mechanics like Lee Sin.

When I see a Bronze pick Lee Sin, I cringe so hard because I know there’s a very high chance they’re gonna get whooped.

I remember when me and my buddy were in bronze and he picked Lee Sin every damn game.

And guess what happened?

He fed like crazy!

So don’t pick these types of champions like Lee Sin, Zed, Yasuou, Azir, and you get the picture.

Just because your favorite streamer or pro player play them, doesn’t mean you should.

Sure, some of these more complicated champs may do well in some games, but for the most part…

…they’ll be mediocre in low elow and you’ll probably end up feeding.

What kind of player are you? (Picking your lane) You should also consider what kind of player you are.

This will help choose which lane you should be in.

Do you like to go all in with crazy attack damage?

Then you can go in any lane except for support.

Do you thoroughly enjoy helping your teammates and getting them fed?

Then support may be your best option.

So decide what you enjoy doing first and then pick your champion.

Pick one champ you like and get really good with it. On my main I got to Diamond 3 playing Riven only (this was season 5-6). I knew how to beat every champion with her, but that alone wont win the game.

Dont worry about kills. This is a farming game.

Try to predict the map (i watch the map 80% of the time) and try to proactively make a play. A lot of times i roam mid or bot just in time to save my team.

If you’re behind and losing, just sit at the tower and farm. This is hard to do, bc it requires patience to drag the game out. Lower level players you might end up forfeiting bc they dont understand how the game works tho...

My advice (im now 96 lp in broze 1) is to decide to be a leader and simultaneously be a team player. Pay attention to all objectives (including dragons, rift herald, baron and towers) regardless of what lane you play (I main support and often lead my team towards dragon/baron or steal them 😏) Also ward and keep warding and use control wards. And keep in mind that the main objective is to win the game, not to get the most kills! And watch pro games, they have helped me see the big picture and helped me learn to lead my team to victory.
