I think Sion is pretty overbuffed atm
I've been a M7 Sion for quite a long time, since way before proplayer used to spam him as a Mid laner back then. Normally I've won most match ups mainly because:
- Not a lot of players plays Sion, so they lack the knowledge of what to do against him.
- Tons of innate survivability.
- Dominates most teamfights, no matter if you're behind in gold or not.
But after tons of balancing issues with him, I felt that Sion is very much a "does too much damage alongside beinga serious tanky behemoth". I'm still playing Sion atm, but I felt that the reasons I won were more than just the above lists I mentioned.
- E's no longer the 1st move to max, but now shreds EVERYONE'S armor if they got hit by either directly from Sion or being hit by a minion.
- Q's damage was constantly buffed for almost no reason, especially as it's now the 1st ability to max. During the time it got buffed was when his E was a serious issue.
- W's buff made him way too tanky during the mid-late game. I'm quite fine with this actually. He's meant to tank in a ton of damage.
The issue of playing as Sion & dominating most games, is that his E ensures that his opponents doesn't manage to get away, and even if one attempts to dash out, Sion gets to have the chance of chunking their HP by quick-releasing his Q key. Be reminded that this amount of damage is done additionally with the Armor Shred from his E, which is 20% at all ranks.
Sion at the moment just does too much damage while being seriously tanky at the same time. This is not the right way to balance Sion at all. Henceforth, I was hoping that he can get rebalanced out after Worlds Patch(since none of our feedbacks will ever change their mind). This is what I would propose:
Q - Decimating Smash Patch 8.14's buffs reverted.
E - Roar of the Slayer Armor Shred change from 20% at all ranks to 5/10/15/20/25%.
This should balance out properly of what a Tank champion should do: Resist out tons of damage & land out ton of CCs while trading it for having less damage than a usual Bruiser.
