They never forget the infinite scaling fantasy; they added in an item in the new game mode Black Market Brawlers that gains more AD every time it's active is used, scaling infinitely.

It still needs 5 autoattacks to trigger the active, which is melee ranged. Plus you're sion, who I would think would prefer just clearing the entire wave.

I was able to get 60 stacks. 1460g for 80 AD and 10% lifesteal, but it took a while and i couldnt fully focus on farming it. but a slot efficient single ad item on sion is too tempting for me to pass up, even if it delays my tankiness a couple minutes

I've gotten over 1100 HP from Sion's passive before. It can definitely be powerful.

That would take a shit ton of farm and over an hour long game.

It was over an hour long game, but you can manage HUGE amounts of HP from just kills and assists. I didn't farm much more than anyone else, had like 250 CS, which would end up being around 600-700 bonus HP (siege minions give 10 HP, and spawn every wave late game)
each takedown = 10 HP. i got something like 8 kills and 32 assists, so that's 400 hp from that
