Well I main malzahar and zyra on support and before spending too much IP on runes,is it better to have hybrid penetaration(magic pen and lethality) or just magic penetration marks? Don't really have friends to ask this thought this post could help me,thanks.
they dont do physical damage...
so getting lethality on them dont make much sense
just run a simple ap mage page just as you would in mid
magic pen marks ,ap quints ,armor seals and either cdr blues, mr blues, or ap per lvl blues ( which in bot lane wont be as good cuz you share experience) so cdr or mr would be better
Mixed penetration runes are worthless now unless you actually do a significant amount of mixed damage as a support (
), which very rarely is the case.
The norm is AP Quintessences, Magic Penetration Marks, Armor Seals, and Magic Resistance Glyphs. You can substitute the MR Glyphs for other choices like more AP or MPen if the enemy team is 5 physical damage champions, or the AR Seals for HP or HP per level if they're 5 magical damage champions. Unfortunately, you can't adjust Runes in champ select, so for a starting point just go for the standard.
