Can We Get Actual Mages In The Games?
Mages in this game are considered "Mage" because they take AP over AD. Which is kinda lame. Mages are meant to be wizards that specialize almost always in one thing (fire, lightning, conjure, illusion, etc).
For me, I have always played the Mage role in every game. Destiny, Witchers 3, Skyrim, RuneScape, Elders Scrolls Online, and other games, but League's mages just dont feel like mages to me.
A mage for me is someone who uses magic spells, small magic auto attacks, etc. People may say "Oh, but Lux uses spells to summon a beam of light", well Jayce technically summons an Acceleration gate but hes not a mage, Panth summons a Spear everytime he throws one. I just want a mage champion that actually feels like a mage champ. The only ones that feel like mages is Taliyah and Yorick, and hes not even considered a mage in game because hes not ap reliant. Yorick summons minions, wall, and Mist Walkers, which is what a real mage would do.
Mage Ideas (Note these may sound op, but im sure Riot would know how to make them right):
Lightning mage: Uses lighting as its mage power. Which means all its abilities do Lighting damage and are lighting in general.
Autos: Do constant lighting damage, think of it like Sidious from Star Wars and his Force Lightning. This mage would use constant lightning as its autos, but they do a lot less damage than an original auto attack. (So like 14 damage while an original auto does about 60ish lvl 1). But you also gotta remember that itd be about 3.5 attacks per second, so about 45 damage compared to 1 auto from a ranged champ. But the more AP you get the more damage your autos do (not by a lot). You also cannot increase your attack speed, its locked at 3.5 (or whatever sounds balanced).
Passive: Kills fuel your energy, each kill gives you permanently 5 AP. Q: Lightning Bolt: Blast a Lightning bolt at your enemy, skillshot. Almost all mages should use skill shots instead of pointing and clicking. W Thunderous Crowd: Lightning that goes over a large area in a triangle shape. Think of it like Cho's W but it only does damage. E: Chained Lightning: Your autos go through multiple enemies and deals more damage. R: The Storm: Cast a Storm of Lightning within a 600 range. The storm will cast lightning damaging any enemies hit by it.
Conjure Mage: The main role I try to play in any game is the Conjurer Mage. Summoning things to fight for you has always been my favorite thing to do in games.
Autos: Normal autos beens most conjurer mages only use magic to Conjure.
Passive: For each time you conjure the same creature, it grants bonus stats. (This means everytime you spawn a warrior for example, it will gain like 2 health and 1 ad etc). Q: Warrior: Conjure a melee warrior to fight for you in lane. Warriors are melee fighters that are normally tankyish and do little damage. (limited to 1. Gain more the more you level this skill up) W: Archer: Conjure an Archer to fight for you in lane. Archers are decent ranged fighters that have decent damage and are squishy. E: Mage: Conjure a Mage to fight for you in lane. Mages cast random magic damage (Earth/Fire/Water/Air/Lightning/Poison/Frost). R: Conjure a random Champion from League. The champion is 2 levels below your existent level, and has no items/runes. You cannot control anything you summon, they all fight whoever is closest to them.
Fire Mage: Brand isnt a real Fire Mage, just a Chogath/Morg combined kinda.
Autos: Bursts flames out, itd be the same thing as Lightning Mage autos except it does Fire Damage, which ill explain all the damages later.
Passive: When enemies get too close to you, they take Fire damage. Kinda like a built in Sunfires.
Q: FireBolt: Basically the same as Lightning Mage but does Fire Damage.
W: Incinerate: Cast a ball of fire that detonates on impact, AOE damage.
E: High Lava Ground: Cast Fire on the ground, damaging enemies that stay in area of impact. Kinda like a Rumble ult but less damage.
R: Combustion: Self Cast a Fire explosion on yourself that deals damage to enemies around you.
Earth Mage: Taliyah Autos: Does earth damage now on autos. Autos are normally casted rather than constant 3.5 attack speed.
Frost Mage: Anivia is pretty close to a Frost Mage, but could use some work.
Autos: Do frost damage, same as lightning mage but with Frost Damage.
Passive: When in river, create ice where you step allowing you to move faster. Q: Frost Bolt: Basically what Anivia has now W: Wall: what anivia also has. E: FrostBite: A small snowstorm that deals small damage and also reduces enemies Mana R: Frost troll: Conjure a Frost Troll to fight by your side
Lightning Damage = impacts Armor more Fire Damage = Impacts Health more Earth Damage = Impact against Magic Resists More Frost Damage = Reduces Enemy Mana by a small amount Poison = Twitch Water = Bonus damage to AD players Air = Bonus damage to AP Players
Thats kinda the idea im getting for Mages. I know it sounds pretty busted but I just wish there were champs like these in the game, actual Mages.
where it's like spells and stuff.
then you have different kinds of magic. vastaya (rakan, ahri, rengar, etc) are all magical creatures.
just because there's no traditional cliche wizard character doesn't mean it's true magic.
why use magic when you can 9/11
