@RiotRepertoir - Sightstone

Would it be possible to add interaction to Sightstone with support items and/or Smite? Generally speaking, junglers and support are the roles that buy the item, while other roles tend to either buy wards directly early on or rely on the upgraded Ward Trinket. But Sightstone itself, as many people have pointed out, feels very lackluster as an item, and it's been said before that Ruby Sightstone is flat-out a gold sink for if you get that much gold.

So.

Would it be possible to set up the base Sightstone to interact with certain other items that you only see built on supports or junglers?

As an example, we'll use support items, since they're clearly the most common Sightstone purchasers.

Sightstone: When the active ability for a gold generation item is used, Sightstone recovers 1/2 charges (cannot exceed 4 charges total).

This way, popping your active as a support can generate more wards for you to use. One of the more annoying things, in my mind, about Sightstone is that it just doesn't compare to the upgraded Ward Trinket in terms of vision if you don't base regularly. Now I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I know that I, at least, don't back as often as my ADC. If I'm supporting, and they base because they have the gold to finish IE and want it before the next Dragon, that's fine and makes sense. I'm going to use that time to pay a visit to mid lane and see if I can't get a kill or at least a flash out of it, to give us one more advantage for that Dragon fight. But no matter what, I still have to base for wards. I think if you did this though, Sightstone should get more charges back for Frost Queen's Claim and Face of the Mountain than for Talisman, which has a shorter cooldown and is useful even if you just pop it to get another ward instead of for a fight.

You might also have this interact in some way with Smite, but I'm not sure that's such a good idea, given how often Smite is used. Maybe have it generate charges when killing river crab or dragon, but not the other big monsters?

On the other side of things, there's a lot of argument that Sightstone itself is an ineffective item beyond wards, since it lacks stats. Since these are supports we're talking about currently, and since wards are inherently meant to provide value to your team, could we consider giving Sightstone an 'evolution' similar to the ones trinkets get?

Say, when you reach level 9 and have a a full gold-generation item built in your inventory, Sightstone adds an additional effect to your wards:

Talisman of Ascension: +5 movement speed to allies within vision range of your wards per point of health on the ward.

Frost Queen's Claim: When your ward expires or is destroyed, all enemies within its vision range are slowed by 30% for 1 second.

Face of the Mountain: Your wards provide lingering vision of the area for 3s after expiring or being destroyed.

This is all off the top of my head, I won't even begin to pretend that I know whether they're balanced with each other or within the game itself, but I think Sightstone, at least for supports if not also junglers, deserves some love. ^^

I fully support making changes to the sightstone. I eve support making other support based vision items. Not all supports want health with their vision but they only have one choice and therefore have little they can do about it. Maybe we can change sightstone to an item that buffs your trinket. For example when you have sightstone your trinket has bonus properties dependent on which trinket it is.

I'm not sure of a perfect direction off the top of my head but the sightstone definitely needs to be looked at and worked on.

Repeat the older seasons where supports were basically ward bots and never got to buy anything nice?

How about no.

id prefer that then the support wouldnt be as useless and the others could save gold for maxing their builds to win the game ah i miss those endless movespeed stacking with janna zooming over the map warding evry brush gee gee rito.

Plenty of support mains would disagree with you. Supports are far from useless, and they are considerably more useful than they were prior to the vision rework, being able to scale their utility better and buy more utility. Vision is now a team effort, and it's not even that hard: Yellow Trinket upgrade is 250g and it easily lets you cap the ward limit.

If you are having a hard time with vision, your team sucks.

yes...wards...that's why you are losing more games...it has nothing to do with you immediately resorting to rage when someone disagrees with you.

You could also add a talent at the end of the Utility mastery tree that would allow you to unlock the ability to purchase enchants (like boots) that would only be available to people who picked up the final mastery in the tree.

Then you could tack on a bunch of enchantments like AP, Armor, MR, more wards, movement speed, summoner spell alterations, or whatever. This would let junglers still pick up blue/red sightstone, they just won't get the enchantments unless spec for it.
