@Riot Ryze is getting voice updates with his VGU--so where is Shen's?
Because according to Reav3, you guys are giving Ryze a voice update:
But you didn't give one to Shen, despite the fact that he needs one just as badly as Ryze does. In fact, I would argue that Shen needs the voice update worse than Ryze, because Shen has featured more prominently in the lore recently than Ryze. He needs interactions with Zed, Jhin, Akali and Kennen.
Now, as I recall, the reason given for Shen not getting a voice update is because ChampUp is constantly barraged with deadlines they have to meet to get things done. And that's fair--if they didn't have the time to update Shen's voice with the rest of his stuff at the time of his release, then that's that. It's acceptable to let them get the most important part out and save the voicework for later.
Thing is, if you have time to update the voice for Ryze, clearly you also have time to update the voice for Shen and Shen's been waiting.
So what gives? And don't tell me it's because Ryze has a visual and gameplay update and Shen only got a gameplay update. Yes, I saw it was listed that way on the ChampUp site. And no, not one single person is buying that lie. Shen DEFINITELY got a visual update along with his gameplay, and there isn't a "nuh uh" loud enough to make that not the case.
So why's he getting skipped? Why is his outdated, limited voicework okay to leave in the game and Ryze's isn't? Is it because you guys like Ryze better? Because Riot totally likes Ryze better, but that shouldn't have an impact on getting things done. Playing favorites should never be acceptable, and the fact that it's been so much worse over the past year hasn't exactly endeared me to Riot.
So I ask you--are you going to actually do your jobs and give Shen the voice update he's been waiting for? Or is he going to be thrown to the side in favor of champs you guys like better? Because I've been watching you guys promise a Yorick rework for three years, and frankly I don't have a lot of hope that you'll do anything for Shen this decade.
) I can accept the fact that Shen didn't get a new VO. He is the silent type, he don't speak much so not getting new VO is acceptable but just cause it acceptable to me doesn't mean he doesn't need one. All in all, yes, he needs one but it isn't necessary in my opinion however I cannot say the same about the other VU champs.
