What did 5.11 do to Hecarim?

Hey there!

Excuse me for being a fuckboy, but I don't really understand what the 5.11 nerfs really did to Hecarim. Can someone please help me explain? The update cycle and the additive stacking confuses me.

Is he still good jungle/top? What tier do you think he's currently in?

The changes made his synergy with the home guard enchantment not be game breaking.

The change on his passive made it check if home guard had been disabled by taking damage more often.

The change on his E mean it does not grant more move speed the more move speed you already have from % bonuses like home guards.

Is he still good? Can I main him and still be viable? The nerfs confused me so I'm not sure how it affected him. Does he work in high elos?

Almost every champion is playable when you are becoming more experienced with them. Yes, there are about ~20 tier one champions that are better than the rest but I wouldn't worry too much about that and just pickup a champion you think is cool / will be fun.

I have a really weird phobia of putting my time into maining something and then find out it's bad in high elo or something.

I'll just C+P an answer I made a while ago.

Any and all % MS bonuses will be less potent. By how much, it varies on build and such, but with his normal Trinity Force + T2 boots, he's losing 3.51 to 7.02 AD depending on level. The damage he loses is actually pretty negligible.

Move Speed builds will definitely be less potent, but only just enough to make something like the Homegaurd + Tele cheese reduced by a pretty large portion.

However if going against a poke comp, Homeguard Tele Hec is a great answer against it. While it doesn't do as much damage, you still have enough damage in your kit to kill a 1.5k health poke champ.

He's fine for most part, but fell out of favor as the top and jungle meta shifted. The fotm players moved on.

He's a great jungler for Bronze-Gold level play with Cinderhulk. I say he's a tier 2 top lane for all ranks. You basically use him for late game, teleport homeguard teamfights where you kill carries.

why specifically bronze-gold?

At higher skill levels people use champions that can easily stop Hec's ganks with ease. Including Janna and Alistar. It's hard to gank those lanes if while running in you get knocked out of it. Or snared by Morg. Lower elos can do what I've said, however it's not likely they have the reaction timing down.

can you play all champs and be viable in high elo? I have a fear of maining something, get really good at it and then find out it sucks in high elo or something.
