Enemy jungler: Takes one step out of the bush on accident and walks away My teammate: OMG I JUST GOT GANKED, that makes the 20th gank this game (5 mins in)

Me: Gets enemy laner flash + other SS, but no kill. Get a counter gank saving one of the lanes from certain feeding. Get drake and rift herald. In one jungle sweep. My teammates: Wow report our jungler never ganked at all. Stupid useless junglers never gank my lane at this elo. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

EVERY SINGLE GAME... okay its more like 50% of the time but you get the point.

I mute EVERYONE at the start of the match. I'm sick of hearing the cries of poor baby laners who can't at the very least play with 20% of their iQ.

Which is also a double edged sword, since the gamble involves you sacrificing contact with players who prefer that type of communication. It's not often I'd get games with players that mute everyone at the start, but in most cases, they don't end well.

No, its nowhere near a double edge sword. First anything that ever would need to be communicated works 100% through pings. Oh sure you may say "well what if a teammate needs to buy a certain item" Naaa bro, even with typing I have told and had teamates tell them and at the defeat screen 20 minutes later player X still has not built it.

And 2nd, the big one, 99% yes 99 out of about 100 games text chat is used to either A; talk shit to someone B; say something completely pointles such as "just stop dying" or my favorite "why???" Its pointless communication that benefits no one.

Text chat in league is NOT vital, hell it is not even needed.

1% of the time something is said that is actually useful. I mute all every single game and I still climb consistently in my games.

Depends though.

If you were MasterYi or Shyvana then that is to be expected and i wont say a thing.

If youre Evelynn Khazix Hecarim you should know damn well im gonna complain about no ganks XD

I think the concern for some people is that it may be considered to be additional lane pressure against them, since it becomes a blatant sign that they should not advance out far enough for the enemy jungler to gank them. With how a lot of games can be with my kind of MMR, I've come to an understanding of just how that'd unnerve some people. Though part of that fault does lie in the fact that not many people actually ward. Though I agree, considering it to be a gank is rather silly.
