Yeah, this happens to me on occasion.
I remember one game waiting for the opposing teams Udyr to finish loading, they were stuck at 71%, and a bit later I was wondering "oh, maybe the client crashed."
I quit and restart, and swiftly load into the match that had been in progress for 2 minutes...
So yeah, some kind of notification would be nice.
This is compounded by the extreme length of time it can take to get all 10 players to 100% and still have to wait for the match to start. Then you really cant tell if its a crash or just taking a very long time to find a server.
I have seen this happen too many times over the years; there really is a strong need for the ability to know whether you're still connected or not. That loading screen is in general the least functional part of the LoL client now.
I'm hoping with the new client they have moving character portraits in the loading screen that provide this exact function. That's a significant amount of work to do though for all champions and all skins so I doubt they'll do it.
I'd settle for the dancing Katarina in the lower right hand corner like we have in the store when a purchase takes too long.
its funny how when people suggest something either the people or rioters themselves be like it seems like a lot of work so its not likely gonna happen.... is this not their job for the most part though some of them do put in extra and is appreciated. so much times things pertaining to league is written off as a game but its a game that pertains to some of their livelihoods
You make a good point, I mean you couldn't even capitalize the first letters of the sentences you started, that extra work of reaching for the shift-key "its not likely gonna happen...."
