WHY WAS SONA IGNORED ON 5.18?
Galio and Zyra get fixes, and all the Sona main's and fans get NOTHING.
Everyone knows Sona needs a re-work or buffs, yet we get no response from ANYONE, this is an outrage!

Sona is a toxic 0 skill champ that offers no interactive gameplay, that is why any changes she gets will be nerfs and rightfully so, until they rework her toxic kid to have skillshots with her normal abilities, she should stay unviable.
and still! riot refuses to address her!
and still! riot refuses to address her!
Yep, because these champions have priority:
.
Once those champions get reworked, they will probably take a look at others, until then, there won't be any
changes.

Riot's answered this particular brand of QQ multiple times on this same section. There is a search function it isn't hard. To give you the short summary. Riot isn't gonna pretend that sona is bad to sate the delusional fanbase.
kinda like old support zilean
She is not. Yasuo and Ekko have toxic kits. She has slow as shit movement speed and is prone to CC. She has more counterplay than Ekko and Yas combined. She's also been nerfed and worked into a sup just like Morg and Zyra when they were designed as mid lane mages. She needs a rework.

Yasuo and Ekko have 10x more counterplay than Sona. Sona has no counter play. She is almost like a ranged udyr, her kit offers no interaction except for her ultimate. Yes, she needs a rework, she needs skill shots.
No, she doesn't need skillshots. Her spells are fine as is. Not every stupid champ needs them. Her shield needs to be improved and so does her E. But she has more counterplay than Yasuo and Ekko. They are outrageous, high damage, high mobility champs with little counterplay. And her kit has a lot of interaction.
Good lord, stop flaming about her. You are wrong. Only thing you said was right is "she needs a rework."
You don't want skill shots on that 0 skill champ? then enjoy her being unviable for eternity, there is a reason riot keeps 0 skill champs like
and
out of viability, because once their abilities are good, they offer 0 interaction.
You can sidestep Yasuo and Ekko abilities, you don't even understand what interactive kit means. I don't care though, keep crying or sona buffs that will never come, the only change she got after months of neglect was another nerf, rofl.
Every Yasuo and Ekko player find a way to make their spells hit no matter how well you dodge, and they do have less counterplay than she does. I do know what a interactive kit is. Stop taking shots at me like that. She is viable, just doesn't need to be drastically changed. Everyone hates the skillshot they put on Veigar. She doesn't need it.
They have been talking about changes for her lol. So they will come.
If they hit you, you didn't dodge it, lol. You are funny xD
I am quite good at dodging. But players can be smart enough to throw their skillshot into the direction that you are dodging too.
...Sona was never supposed to be a mid. She was always a support. Her launch was nothing more then a competition on whether her or Soraka were going to be a better healbot, as that's 90% of what supports were at the time.
Hell, she basically triggered the great Heal rework and the Morello Healer-hate crusade. That at the time saw her healing hacked apart, Soraka's hacked apart, Soraka's E sustain destroyed, Kayle losing all semblance of supportiness, Nidalee's heal getting torn to bits, Taric's getting destroyed, etc.
Also, Morgana and Zyra weren't reworked into a support, they control mages from a meta that's long dead, but immobile control mages fell out of favor, but so happened to destroy bot lane. In fact, they were repeatedly nerfed to try to make them better mages--not better supports. Same with Fiddles, Syndra, Vel'Koz, Elise and Annie and all the other "I was a mage once" who walked into bot lane and annihilated the competition.
None of them received nerfs to their maginess to try and push them into Support. Most gained scaling and lost base damages. Some returned mid with pride, (Syndra) others have just become unpopular due to their kits being boring or having poor current matchups mid.
Ahem. Yes, Morgana and Zyra were worked into a support. Especially Zyra, who was so strong at release, they nerfed her to hell and she is barely viable mid lane, and so was Morgana, although I never heard how strong she was at release.
Way late, but still need to reply. No, no they weren't. Both of them worked too well as supports to such an extent that they were consistently nerfed as a support but kept their power.
Zyra had some mid lane nerfs yes, because her winrates were thru the roof. In her case, she wasn't nerfed 'into' a support, and the truth was her midlane game wasn't even bad. It was in the 49%/51% winrange for pretty much forever in mid. But her support game allowed her to destroy numerous popular support champions, and her particular bot lane support identity was more unique, useful, and contributed more then it did per slot then her as a mid laner.
Morgana was nerfed, yes. But she was permabanned until the meta changed. Nerfs barely effected this. She's barely changed. The difference is roaming assassins and roaming mids became a thing and things like Morgana, Anivia and Orianna were less useful. Her nerfs have been aimed at nearly everything, including buffs bringing back things she lost as long ago as early season 2.
Neither of them were nerfed 'into' a support. They found that their particular kits made them incredibly powerful as supports. Morgana always had Black Shield, incredible range 3 second and an ult that didn't need AP to be amazing.
Zyra was just found, at launch, to have amazingly reliable CC and a particular power against melee supports and melee junglers. She could stop people in their tracks with the greatest of ease, her passive worked better as a support then a mid, her plants scaling independent from Q/E levels and reliable CC, fantastic ult effect, and general good base damages let her work as a zero farm support.
These are the things, if a mid can work as a zero farm support and be effective, chances are they are going to be a better support then a mid.
The reason Lux, Nidalee, Orianna and Anivia didn't become mainstay support picks was for the same rreason. They need items badly.
Lux and Nidalee are AP hungry and prone to taking farm and kills from the ADC, denying the carry gold. Orianna needs items or she's just...not that great. Her base abilities are great but she doesn't scale without items. Anivia has amazing base damages, can deal ridiculous damage with no items at all (for a support) and constantly output reliable CC, (Q is an amazing peel tool, same with Wall) great zone control. (W) an E that will deal significant damage with no AP....but she needs so much mana she can't function easily as a support.
They both were designed as mid lane mages. When they were released, they were mid lane mages. Now the fact that they are supports means they were pushed into that role. Nothing else.
To be fair, both Galio and Zyra's things were QoL buffs. It's now harder to accidentally cancel Galio's ult, and Zyra's plants actually work now. These aren't really intentional buffs; the goal wasn't to make them actively stronger.
Sona is a really hard champion to balance, since she doesn't have any skillshots, or even any point and clicks, aside from her ult. Up to last hit? Eat a Q. In to trade? Have a Q. She has counters, but no counterplay, in other words. With this in mind, a raw numbers buff would make her incredibly oppressive; if her Q poke or W heal was stronger, she would become the lane bully to end all lane bullies, and there'd be nothing you could do about it. WIth this in mind, some form of rework is a decent option, but Sona is definitely not first in line here. Champions like Yorick, Poppy, and Taric have this issue as well, and they have for some time.
Sona is also not weak right now. She hovers at a little over a 50% win rate, and the general consensus (thanks, Google!) seems to be that she's pretty strong. Compared to other, long-abandoned champions, Sona is fine.

That's because if you tinker her kit she will be in mid again. Which proved to be really darn unhealthy
Don't mention Sona or Rito will just nerf her again. That is the life of Sona because she can't yell for help.
Still annoying with her Q+AA(passive) and that bs AoE ult. You're just pissed about her not being buffed because she doesn't have a dash or any True Damage.
im not aware that sona needs buffs. I even play her sometimes
Sona's just fine for me, so long as i'm not up against blitz or thresh or pretty much any tank in general I do just fine and dandy.
She needs only a few number tweaks, preferably to her W's shield, then she'll be ace.
Its all a matter of finding the right runes to bring on her, cuz 8/10 times I can put the super hurt on my lane opponents and shove em out of lane.
Sona's kit is one of those older ones that's either going to be OP or weak AF. Maybe there's a tiny slim hair of 'balance' between the two extremes, but considering she's not really the epitome of fun champion balance, I'm guessing Riot would rather leave her as 'weak' than to risk the alternative.
Sona is literally one of the most oppressive laners in the game when she's good.
Yes, she has the HP of a caster creep and you can just jump on her face, but good luck doing that when her level 1 poke post-rework was strong enough to send you packing if her ADC jumped in as well.
I still have horror flashbacks of the level one engages from Draven-Sona lanes after her rework...
