About Taliyah's buffs

C'mon Riot, don't you listen? We asked you to buff everything expect her q and you buff her q? Really? http://plays.tv/video/581ea95f50e6e9bd5f/poor-taliyah-rito-buff-her-plx I mean, look at this. It's disgusting. Hitting w is already hard and when you finally hit it look at the shitty damage a w+e combo does. Just stop with the "let's give some random buffs to Taliyah since she's not popular anymore and then pretend she's fine" already.

Lots of suggestions were given from Taliyah mains from many different servers and from many different ranks, but I guess Riot doesn't really care until she becomes an unplayabe wreck.

Something funny about the clip. Seismic Shove + Unraveled Earth did 253 damage with Thunderlords. Not counting Thunderlords would be approximately 183 damage. This isn't taking Taliyah's AP and AD into account since TLD will scale with 30% bonus AD and 10% bonus AP. One Q shard did 119 damage alone. One skill at it's weakest point almost manages to out-damage two skills that are hard to land. That's just sad.

Oh. Watch as Akali dashes through THREE OTHER MINES and didn't take a single scratch from them. By not a single scratch, I mean not even a single scratch.

Your argument is weak. W and E both provide displacement/zoning. Q is meant to solely deal damage, therefore, it is logical that it deals much more damage than W and E. Complaining that those spells deal very little damage is like complaining Fiddlestick's terrify does no damage.

In this clip shown, Taliyah managed to pull off a good Seismic shove and minefield. But she used her q on a zone that was already worked, leading it to only fire one shard. Also, Akali is an assassin who has a strong powerspike with her ultimate. Assassin's excel at 1v1's. Taliyah's ult brings utility, Akali's is meant for fighting.

How would it be balanced, if a control mage who brings a fuckton of utility to her team, manages to 1v1 an assassin? The Taliyah made a stupid decision to push so far to enemy tower, and to use her q on worked ground.

(also Q probably had more points in it)

Taliyah's WE combo is pretty hard to pull of on an aware opponent and her mines won't deal any damage unless someone dashes to them if she misses the displacement. Yes, Q is meant to solely deal damage - and it does not mean that it should do equal damage to a delayed, telegraphed 2-spell combo.

For comparison, imagine if Veigar dealt more damage with his Q than he did with Dark Matter - if a risk-free skillshot would deal comparable damage to a WE combo which also leaves him defenseless for a while. That would just suck, both for Veigar who'd feel that his spells lack impact and for his opponent who could outplay WE and still get chunked heavily with a Q.

I wrote that W and E are both utility spells. Dark matter does damage, Q does damage. Dark matter is harder to land, therefore deals much more damage.

Take Syndra for example. Her Q, W, and E all have delays, and can be dodged by an evasive enemy. However her ultimate deals more damage than all 3 of them, and is point-click! So if Syndra were to land her Q, W, and E, but messed up her ultimate (like an enemy stasis), a lot of her damage is mitigated, and the enemy proceeds to win the trade, having evaded her main source of damage. Should it be complained that Syndra Q, W, and E don't do enough damage on their own? No they are used to set up for her ultimate.

Similarly, Taliyah's W and E are used to set up for her main nuking spell: Q. The Taliyah in the clip got the knockup-into-minefield part setup, but what's the point of setting up if there's little follow up? It's like a lone Ashe arrow, with no team mates nearby to engage when it hits.

Veigar's cage is a utility spell too. And is integral in him landing Dark Matter. That's where he's similiar to Taliyah; he has a relatively easy to land linear skillshot and a telegraphed combo which hits way harder. If skillshot is able to outdamage said combo we have a problem.

And the fact that spell has utility does not necesarrily mean it needs to do less damage. Look at a champion like Orianna, for example. By your logic she has Q which is meant to deal damage, and W and E which are utility spells. And yet the W which provides a slow/speed field deals the highest damage, and E which is a shield with resistance boost has equal base damage and lower scaling to Q - but actually deals more damage in situations where Q would hit multiple units. Why isn't Orianna's Q a nuke and W/E weak damage spells to help setting it up?

And Taliyah is supposed to be a combo mage. The "combo" part kinda dissapears from the equation when her W/E are udnerwhelming and she can just chunk you with way less effort using Q.

Her W and E are supposed to deal massive damage if used properly BECAUSE they are for zoning pressure, ESPECIALLY if someone dashes through her minefield like an idiot.

The problem with Seismic Shove and Unraveled Earth is that they cannot zone for the life of them. Both skills are either telegraphed, negligible or usually both if the enemy knows the matchup. What will Unraveled Earth do? Make the enemy take 200 damage? Seismic Shove is usually predicted and easily avoided anyways, so it's pressure isn't really there. So all Taliyah has is her Threaded Volley for pressure and zoning since it actually does relevant and reliable damage.

The problem is that her E should make you think "OMFG! SHE USED HER E! do I back, waste my flash to get out of her E and then engage her, or just engage her taking responsability and risk my life because she played that better than me so she deserves the kill?" instead of "who the fuck cares she's garbage let's dash forever", which is what EVERY player thinks. That's the problem. Her E was created to punish champions who engage Tali but it doesn't punish them, and Riot just doesn't care.

she's like a champion with just 1 spell and Riot isn't doing anything to fix that...

I'm happy with her, i'd be more content with 6.13 34% winrate Taliyah but she's strong now, I can ACTUALLY play her without being pissed that I can't do anything

The only change I want is to remove this f*cking vector casting on her W, it's so annoying

Project Sleeky2 votes

She's like a champ with only one damaging skill lol Seriously, please stop buffing her damn q and actually take even a little look at her other abilities, especially considering her other abilities basically do the equivalent of a small mosquito biting you.

Orangesilk2 votes

Buffing only the strongest point of a champion is such a terrible idea, it makes their gameplay completely hit or miss.

they just need to revert every single change the have made to her and replace her back to default when she was first released

They won't because of the fucking lcs

I'm a lvl 6 mastery taliyah. I feel she is in a fine spot when played appropriately. With the runes, mysteries, and items I build on her I get great mana, health, CDR and magic damage. Her Q is literally on an extremely low cooldown and is great for chunking opponents. Once rylais is built your w and E become much more effective tools for landing the combo with your Q

on op.gg it says Mahkoshan never played taliyah.. is this on the pbe server? it seems like he/she isnt using any runes in this game.

You know what bothers me more? Akali instagibbing the Taliyah by just mashing buttons and clicking on her. But, you know, Akali needed buffs, obviously.
