Runescape did it, World of Warcraft did it and League of Legends is doing it

Killing the game and ignoring their community. I remember reading something about the rise and fall of empires and how every empire had similar errors and downfalls, it is in human nature, I think something similar exists for games and gaming companies that grow popular.

RIP Season 3.

Overwatch came at the right time.

Almost every successful company who makes one great product starts to think they can do no wrong and refuses to listen. Sun Microsystems did the same thing. The initial success makes them think that they're the visionaries and because "not listening" worked for the initial success, they start to think it's always the right thing.

Man, F*** ALL the riot apologists in this thread. I cannot believe anyone would honestly try to defend a faceless corporation that's being hit with criticism. I've seen players being described as "entitled." ENTITLED. For wishing a game was better and offering solutions, we are entitled. For being ignored and mistreated for ages now, we're ingrates. For not standing in line like mindless drones and playing the game however our Riot overlords deem fit, we should just "get over it." I have no time for anyone who can tell me that we should all just "get over" a game that we love being sodomized in front of us. I'll let the downvotes take care of the problem for me.

I think the game is getting better with new content maybe you should adapt to the changes

OP, You know Overwatch and World of Warcraft are run by the same company right?

What I'd give to play S3 or S4 again :(

I was there for the fall of Warcraft... It was a terrible experience seeing people that have played for years leave because of the direction the game took.

I feel like I got out at a good time.

Watching this Riot shitshow has only made me happy that I quit playing this preseason.

"You think you want solo queue, but you don't" Blizzard Entertainment Riot Games

WoW hasn't really died, just lost a huge amount of players. To say it's dead is a little bit of an overstatement. Runescape however, sure. I hardly even know of the game except when I here about it from stuff like this.

and then you realise OW doesn't have solo queue either...

...and it's an fps so you can't even compare league and OW, might aswell quit league to play fkin call of duty

Hey, WOW is still the most popular MMO and we all know that the game is not that good... The game is from 2004 - how exactly WOW is dead when people still play such old game?

Totally right. Loved LoL when it was in it's WoW TBC era. Hate it now that it's moved into the WotLK era and sold out to Acrivision.

Not surprised that Ghostcrawler is wrecking a great game.

I like the Runescape analogy. I imagine Riot will bring back solo queue after they lose half of the player base like Jagex did when they added Evolution of Combat and then added old school runescape.

Problem is that it will be too late. They will go through all the effort of making the changes, then reverting them, and it will accomplish literally nothing except fragmenting and weakening the playerbase.

Xenos111116/3/2016, 3:31:12 PM3 votes

Hopefully enough of LoL's playerbase bleeds through to Overwatch that Riot finally realises how big they fucked up and actually gives us solo queue. The fact they think queue times and matchmaking are the only ways they fucked up is a joke.

I have seen this happen in the business world my whole life. You get idiots in charge who feel they have to change things even though everything is going well. It's to either to justify their job or stoke their ego that they can do things better. 95% of the time, it ends up a failure.

Yea this game won't last long.
