I Don't Think the Jhin Buffs On The PBE are Enough

Jhin's stats aren't really the issue, the issue comes from his kit; there just isn't enough damage along with a few other glitches, allow me to explain.

  • q - really strong poke, farming, and zoning tool in the laning phase, but useless in any 1v1, skirmish, or teamfight scenario
  • w- really good utility, but no threatening damage
  • e- this ability is pretty useless tbh, the slow isn't heavy enough or last long enough for you to get away, and your enemies can always walk out of it once they step on it. Really only good in certain scenarios with certain team comps, for example, your team featuring rumble and Leona, isolate them in the jungle where there's not much room to maneuver
  • R- really satisfying ability, the only issue with it is that there is this bug where once you hit an enemy with your ult they will randomly start displacing themselves
  • Passive- here is where I think the major issue lies in Jhin's kit. For starters, the movement speed on crit is something put in there to help with his no mobility issue, but the problem is, you don't really feel the affects until much later in the game when you actually get some crit chance, so that part feels useless. Secondly, yes Jhin can get almost double the ad of other adcs (sometimes actually does get double), but you are still doing less damage than most adcs unless you are just ridiculously ahead. This comes from the fact that there is a fixed attack speed and reload rate on his passive along with a 25% crit reduction.

My suggestion would be to reduce the crit reduction to 10%, and reduce the damage the traps do but decrease their activation time. At this moment, there is no reason to pick Jhin over any other adc, he's just too underwhelming. Does anyone else have any more suggestions? Here's a video stating some of the similar issues I have mentioned https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDju_kmgkFY

I got bored of spamming mid/top and did a few games as adc last night, three of which had an opposing Jhin with Naut or Alistar support. I lost two as Zyra support and one as Cait adc. Like, lost really super hard.

My main problem was that it was nearly impossible to get in range to attack him. He was off the screen for entire fights while still doing damage. He was rarely in attack range but managed really high CS.

By contrast, I completely wrecked a Lucian on Ezreal and single-handedly crushed a Cait as Zyra supp. Both Lucian and Cait have very long range/effective range, but Jhin was always so far away that it felt completely hopeless. After that I was pretty shocked to see him getting any buffs after such a short period of time.

lol I do know how to play him, I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Then let us hope that he does not end up like Yasuo. (One buff, then a million nerfs because people figured out how to use him.)

Or like Azir. (Was actually OP to begin with, if it weren't for a massive number of bugs.)

Or also like Lucian, but I don't that would be the case with this champion. His passive just doesn't flow right with the rest of his kit imo, by flow I mean, I'm not saying it doesn't fit his kit, it just feels like its kinda holding him back .

I wouldn't say there's no reason to pick Jhin, he's very much a team oriented champ and brings some nice utility from his position. Carrying with him can be difficult/near impossible if your team isn't on the same page though. In regards to the buffs he's got on pbe though, I can't see how they'll improve his live performance.

I agree he offers decent utility, but he doesn't have the carry/dps potential to back it up.

That's true, problem is how to address that without breaking him. I do feel like E takes far too long to detonate, seeing champs with no boots completely just walk through it is a bit weird.

Buffs?! He needs nerfs! He is Caitlyn on steroids.

SpongebobIsLife1 votes

lol how so?

His range is stupid ridiculous and his traps are almost as good as Teemo's. Plus he can easily get 8K AD. I know a lot of people suck with him, but once you have faced a Jhin who knows how to take advantage of it, you will be BEGGING for nerfs.

right now hes more of a mid people bring him bot lane and expect to go on a ranpage he does need a little buff but not much more justa bit of speed to his reload or movement speed nothing crazy

yeah that's what I'm thinking. I don't think he needs anything major, I think either the crit reduction damage should be reduced, or attack speed should either count towards the speed at which he reloads or the speed at which he attacks.

See I'm glad they are tuning his stats and not his spells. Personally I think his kit is almost perfect. He doesn't want to just mindlessly kill, he wants each kill to be perfect. He is all about set up, if his q had meaningful damage on the first hit it'd go against his character. If his e could reliably hit by itself it'd be too good.

Jihn's E takes way too long to detonate, and i think the damage is really weak for the LONG detonate time. Its the most useless trap in the game in my opinion. His early level mana regen needs a bump up too. He still has like 1.6 mana regen at level 8 whereas other adc's have 2.2 by level 4-5. Even though he has stronger auto's than most, it doesnt justify his ridonculous reload time either. And finally his W's damage doesnt justify the 90 mana it costs. I get that it has utility, but even still, the dmg on it is weak. Jihn basically has his auto's and his Q for dmg, and then his ult when ppl are low.

YES BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY BUFFING A CHAMPION RIGHT AFTER THEY CAME OUT IS A GREAT IDEA! ALA FIORA AND TAHM KENCH.
