Man, these death recaps are REALLY helpful
3049 damage in 2.21 seconds and they only show me the sources of 746 damage. Brilliant

At least it didn't say that you were killed by Teleport.
Or flash, or heal...
or Revive
Or the
minion.
Splinched. Happens to the best of us. Just make sure you keep some essence of dittany on hand and you'll be okay after awhile.
or yourself
At least it didn't say that you were killed by Teleport.
I have been killed by flash doing 1 true damge before.
Literally was the only thing that was shown.
I have seen death Recaps show me I was killed by my own Lissandra q. It did 3% true damage to me.

technically it could of been the ap elixer
The Ap Elixer kills you?
The Ap Elixer kills you?
yes it deals like 15 true damage when you hit with spells
It doesn't deal any damage to you, it deals 25 true damage to an enemy champion or tower
if 15 is 3% then a 100% is 500 hp. that seems too low.
How does a
die so quickly? Well I guess your only defensive item is
but still 3300 HP in 2 seconds is retarded.
When they use everything on the tank

Kog'maw is a good tank buster ad or ap, particularly when rammus has no mr items.. You can also tell by his ally and enemy placement that he tanked close to 100% of enemy team's damage.
when you get ambushed in your own jungle by 3 ppl
2 seconds. That's average time of how long TANK lives in tank meta.
LeL.
Uhm, he wasn't a tank at all. He has no items lol. It also appears as though he got caught by their whole team. I'm not sure what you are expecting.
196 armor, as Rammus. With his tank ability that's about 270-290 armor. That's alot.
And still last whisper made him as durable as wet page of paper against AD champions. Ok i know that most of damage was dealt by AP, but still if Rengars Ebola strike dealt 300~dmg, then it's ALOT.
He was being jumped by 3+ people and he was alone. He deserved every bit of that damage. I'm pretty sure the only tank that could survive those conditions is Alistar.
So, bad news/good news here.
The bad - Yup, death recap still has issues and isn't showing enough information to be useful a lot of the time.
The good news - The fixes that did go out in 5.13 have exposed a bug where death recap's not prioritizing the display of the largest amounts of damage. That bug has been present for a while, we'd previously believed it was the result of a different problem however (data not being properly passed to death recap in the first place, which we fixed in 5.13). Now that we know that's not an issue we've identified and fixed that prioritization problem, so minions dealing 12 damage won't take display priority over champions dealing 1,000. That follow up fix should in 5.14, or possibly a hotfix before that if we get a good opportunity and it's ready in time, and should, fingers crossed, make Death Recap quite a bit more useful in fights with more than a couple of enemies.

If you were to do anything to make the death recap more useful before the BIG fix (the one that completely revamps it and still probably has months of development left).
-> Extra button -> Click button -> List all 5 champs -> Number for "physical", "magic", and "true"
Yeah, I want to see a more informative death recap.
Can we have a recap that shows the damage from the 8 major damage source: 5 champions, towers, jungle monsters and minions? I don't really care what abilities baron uses, also most of the time you are just hit by at most one big monster, and I think the minions can be just grouped as one source. So the death recap can just show 3 numbers for the last 3 damage sources. It shouldn't take too much space. If necessary, you can put a button there so you can expand it to see a more detailed breakdown.

just steal the recap system from Strife they got a flow chart and evrything cant be that hard to steal.
Why is it limited to three opponents and** three** damage sources from each, in a game with five opponents, each with five or more potential damage sources? That decision has always boggled the mind.
Don't worry, it only took them 5 years to fix it to this point
Before they removed Revive, it dealt 4k true damage to me once Glad they removed it, good riddance
Well, at least you have some idea that people were attacking you. Before the most recent update I sometimes had no idea what did anything. I hope they fixed that, since I don't think I've noticed any cases of it so far. *In this picture I was killed by several members of the enemy team...
thats because you got e-bola'd
They said they fixed Death Recap - I had listed 11 damage from a minion after I got 100-0'd in under a second.
K dankz, Roit.
lol its said ive been killed by flash and that Rengar was a minion
How does a Rammus with an
die so quickly? 3300HP in 2 seconds is just ridiculous, they must have had some steroid fed, home grown AP champion.
That aside though, Death Recap once tried to tell me that I took 7% True Damage from Ghost. I guess we sacrifice some life energy in order to become a Ghost at will.
But revive didn't kill you. So that's cool.
I killed myself as a different champion
It's better, but it still needs work, at least we know that THEY know its a problem they should continue to fix
Revive keeps killing me.
Riot, nerf that shit.
didnt rito say there were reworking these? why are you bitching?
From the patch 5.13 notes:
"Revive dealt 12 damage: Fixed a bunch of bugs with Death Recap, specifically as they relate to champion ability damage."
at least it didn't say his allies dealt damage to him. The death recap was so broken that it's probably going to take multiple waves of changes to fix it. This way, at least everything listed was in fact enemies.

NB4 enemy caster minion does 300 teleport damage.
because as of the patch that went live this morning, they DID rework it.
the changes already went through. That's why OP made this post. he took 3k damage in 2 seconds and recap still only showed 1/3rd of it.
for me it showed that red smite did 5 magic dmg
Rengar made a nice contribution with that ebola though
waow...
I dread them also. I hoped I wasnt the only one with the problem, most of the recaps dont help jack squat!
Where is the other 73% lol.
I like how Abysmal Voyage did 90 damage when the ability doesn't do any damage itself. I guess that is the passive bonus damage, but you would expect that to show up as the enhanced ability.
Just curious, but how well did the shen do in that match? Lol
Sometimes Riot math isn't so good. I remember once there was a turret with 150 hp left, and my Autos were doing 68 dmg... I decided to tank the turret to kill it and run. I hit the turret 3x and it said 68 dmg each time, When I died, the turret had 48 hp left... yay. Math is fun!
