Sometimes I always think Sheen is the problem, not the champion

item 3057 is always a go-to item for most AD/AP casters nowadays. Be it a Jax , Corki , or even Nasus , this item is somewhat a free early game buff pre-6. Even I think Ekko is falsely nerfed due to him needing this item for burst, despite his immense mobility(which I still hate). Now with the new Runeglaive item, people are spamming this item on EVERY casters. I even had Gangplank building it last game, and it seemed pretty OP. I know Ezreal is old news btw, but I saw its damage, and it hit like a truck.

TL;DR: item 3057 needs nerf, not the champions.

I personally dislike the item on a fundamental level. What's the purpose of making an item that effectively adds your base AD to the base damage of your spell, the amount that your champion was balanced around? Then throw on this internal cooldown to further play favorites based on kit cooldowns, which also probably weren't balanced around the assumption of a sheen.

It seems like players complain about Luden's for the same reasons, but somehow never bring up sheen.

Idk whether sheen is too strong or not, I just dislike the design in general.

Technically it's a malfunction of the abilities themselves.

Sheen was intended to amplify auto attacks in between abilities, however there are champions that their abilities apply on-hit effects, this making it a big front loaded burst because the spellblade procs on the spell itself when it shouldn't.

Corki Healthy sheen user

Irelia Semi-healthy sheen user (Her Q has a huge cooldown)

Hecarim Healthy sheen user

Lucian Healthy sheen user.

Those champions use sheen properly for the most part. It's not applied by abilities, or the abilities that do apply it have a lengthy cooldown. Not like Ezreal Q applying spellblades within a half second of the spellblade's cooldown coming up. Or Jax/Nasus/Ekko having an amplified auto attack further amplified by spellblade on top of it.

I actually think the on-hit appliers are healthier from a design standpoint, as Riot might have accounted for sheen when designing those kits. I agree that the gameplay pattern of requiring an autoattack to utilize sheen is undermined by some on-hits, though.

I'm fine with the on-hit appliers, I just think that Sheen shouldn't be included in those on hit applying abilities. Or at least certain ones shouldn't. Granted I didn't have too much of a problem with it until Runeglaive came out. Ezreal is just disgusting with that item.

Well, that already got nerfed, I'm pretty sure it was unintended to let runeglaive allow Ez's Q apply spell effects.
