If is the support role is so terrible that no one will ever willingly queue for it

Why don't you just make the role more enjoyable instead of trying to trick people into playing it?

I main support and for me it's fun as it is :I but it dissapoints me to see someone say: "ugh, i hate supporting " after getting it

The only way to make support an appealing option for the people who don't play it is to give them solo lane exp and gold, delete their lane partner, remove wards from the game, and rework all of them to be assassins.

I'm not even saying that to be funny, nearly every single person who hates to play support is just fundamentally opposed to the role and everything it stands for because they're so indoctrinated by the concept of having to solo carry in solo q and not relying on teammates, and would only willingly play the role if it legitimately had as much hard carry potential as mid lane.

Personally, i think playing support is a fine and enjoyable role as it is right now (and incidentally is thousands of times better than it was when there was no cap on wards). There's a bit of room for improvement to be sure (mostly in terms of keeping up in exp) but overall there's no way it'll ever be truly popular without becoming a role that would alienate current support players.

Support mains UNITE! Give me your POWER! We shall use our superior warding skills to defeat the enemy! :D

Remove sightstone, buff trinkets, add consumable slot, add more throughput stats to utility items, add damage prevented stat in post-game.

Also random unhelpful idea: ward killstreaks. Announcer blares out that so and so is a such and such for obliterating 12 wards this life, for example.

Its all I play. Im srsly getting sick of this autofill crap when Im intentionally queuing for support as my main and getting thrown into other roles I cant play.

Having to get sightstone and a gold item before you can get anything else while also being significantly underleveled kills the class for me.

The issue with support isn't it not being enjoyable, support might be the funnest role imo. The issue is the DEPENDENCY. I loved playing support more than any other role, but for over a year I switched my main to mid because if the team is bad, the support can't carry them half the time. Why risk having bad teammates as support over mid where you can go 20/0 and carry? The gold gated, typically more utility oriented, supports have to carry by proxy. People wonder why supports start skipping sightstone and getting rabadons, it's because they don't want to be reliant on shitty teammates to win lol. It's by it's very nature the hardest role in the game because you're handicapped and unless you take a killer (Brand Lux Zyra Annie Velkoz ) and ks everything, you're not going to be able to make up for the shortfalls of your allies. I woulda stuck with thresh and the supports I loved, but I wanted this fking gold icon XD. Riot needs to equalize gold for the supports, but it's a hard thing to do right.

I really like Support Champions but I can't stand having my success so strongly dependent on what my ADC wants to do. Such a conundrum.

It was my same problem when I tried to main ADC.

Dominion had the right idea.

There were no wards (improve your situational awareness or die) and everyone got similar levels of gold and XP. As an added bonus, all classes could take primary objectives equally well, so Marksmen weren't absolutely required for a team comp. If I could 'support' by roaming around with Eve murdering people and helping my Jungler gank like I did back in early Season 1 I would do that, no problem.

I willingly queue for it, and so do many others. How would you suggest the role be changed so that you, for example, would want to play it?

Truly Prideful11/24/2016, 11:18:00 PM3 votes

I would queue support secondary if it actually meant I would get my primary role like 70% of games at least. The problem with it is the people who actually play it as their second role can't even queue for it as a secondary because then it means they'll never play anything else. So I just choose to never set it at all unless I plan on playing it. It's more a problem with their system than anything.

I actually really like to play support, but I main ADC and would like to play that a majority of my games.

because most of the people that dislike it dislike it for the simple fact you don't get the kills on the team

Most just want to b "the guy" in the game, and most games the support can't be "the guy" (or at least visually they aren't to spectators)

most people are just cod kiddies that need to get dem kills

Zelius11/25/2016, 12:12:10 AM2 votes

I literally que as a support main and only get my role 60% of the time.. so I'm guessing people are queing for support haha.

ZephyrDrake11/24/2016, 5:50:18 PM2 votes

you cannot make the role be more "fun" without changing it into something that isn't what it's meant to be. The support role is a gameplay style choice and not many people want to play that style. Most people just care about doing stupid amounts of damage instead of actually SUPPORTING the team. Most people just want to be the center of all attention. How would you change the support role into something that is more "fun" without actually destroying what it is? Riot has done a very good job at making the role more fun overall but if people don't care about that style of gameplay there really isn't much you can do to make new players actually play the role
