Problems with new champ select
Ill try to be brief and not get angry. When an existing feature or option is removed it is very aggravating.

Allow the volume of sound effects in champion select to be muted. This seemed to be an option prior to the new champ select. Now my eardrums are being blasted out every champ select (while all my computer's other sounds are quite mild and almost at background volume).

It is NOT clear enough the it is your turn to pick or ban. The old champion select would highlight the player currently picking/banning, and the contrast between bright orange and a deep dull blue/black was VERY apparent. Even though I've played 10-20 games on the new champion select, most lobbies i fail to realize it is even my turn to pick. The lobby looks good, but it needs to be more obvious that it is your turn to pick or ban.

following #2 above, why the FUCK do i have to press lock in when i have my champ or ban hovered? Literally almost every other champion select I am in is ended by a dodge, and i surmise this is due to people not realizing they have to "LOCK IN" in their selection. I just received a loss in my promos to plat 4 on my other account because I selected my champion but forgot the new system kicks you if you don't press LOCK IN. This is extremely frustrating. Like, if i selected a champion, I'm obviously not AFK. TL:DR: the "LOCK IN" button was un unwarranted and unwanted addition to champion select.

Lastly, we can highlight a champion to show our "pick intent" prior to ban phase. (this feature honestly unnecessarily prolongs an already lengthy champion select phase (one that is even longer than the previous champ select due to my above points)). However, I like where this idea is going. The problem is that this tip off to your teammates is also shown to your enemies as soon as it is your turn to pick, giving them more time to think about how to best react to your pick until you lock it in. This mistake is quite glaring and really just shows that new features need to at least be quickly reviewed or proofread by other teams besides the one implementing the new feature. This mistake reeks of low elo designer creating a new feature. Counterpicking is an integral part of solo queue and giving your opponent an extra minute to think about your pick is absolute bollocks. Im sure it will be tweaked, but in general things like this cause a great deal of frustration in the meantime, something that creates more hostile feelings among your players and makes them even less receptive to new changes.
I think that covered the main issues with the new champion select. Overall it has some great new features and i think with some tweaks it will greatly improve the champion select process and game in general. However, obvious thing like those listed above severely degrade a player's experience game to game and are quite aggravating.
Sure it looks cool, but if the new feature fails to address basic concerns or is a regression from existing features clearly it needs more thought before being launched.
