I honestly understand why Riot made the change they made to Veigars stun

It was a good change, it was the best non ultimate ability in the game. Land the edge of it on someone, good night. Don't land the edge of it on someone but catch them in the middle? Jarvan ult. It was legit overpowered.

But what perplexes me more than anything is how could they have an issue with Veigars stun but Annie still exists? There are almost no decision points with this champion, aside from flash + ulting, which isn't exactly hard to do. But it's instant so there's almost no way to outplay her or our position her stuns when her flash isn't on cooldown, and that's only for champions who outrange her.

Annie needs meaningful changes, there's nothing good about playing against a low decision point, all point and click hard cc + burst champion. And if Veigars stun was an issue, so is Annie's.

Agree on both points.

Veigar's stun was oppressive and left no reasonable counterplay available to players. Your options to the stun were: Already have bought a banshees veil and have the passive up when the spell hit you, Already have bought a quicksilver sash and have it's active off of cooldown (also generally a sub-optimal option for mages as it has no ap upgrade), or bring cleanse before the match starts (which only works in draft picks).

We see the same thing with Annie's Tibbers. The only actual difference is that we see Annie played aggressively and as an engaging mage compared to Veigar's more defensive play.
