Riot: Can we have cool mini-badges too?

Zelnick··2 votes·520 views

Just a thought I see it in other games, and you know how accomplished military generals always have like 40 small metals decorating their uniform? Well since the game usually has all sorts of decorations for skins and ranks I figured there could be something like that too like a scroll down list near our rank icon over what you've accomplished. The badges/icons would only apply to ranked games (to avoid people cheating them in custom games) and they would be for things like -Went 10/0 in a game or -Went 20/0 in a game or -Won a game that lasted an hour or -Got over 400cs in one game

stuff like that.

Riot has stated before that they don't want people going for specific stats, like if there was an Achievement for 400CS, then some people would just afk farm top or something.

It would distract people from the goal of the game.

That could get very cluttered very quickly. Then people will start playing the game for that rather than the actual purpose of the game.

"Hey nasus help us get baron!" "Sorry guys im trying to get the badge for 1k stacks in one game"

If they dont get it that game then it would kinda be a waste of time for the people who actually want to win.

It is a cool concept and idea, but probably not the best for this game. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

What about if the achievements were things like "Took the first tower in under 10 minutes twice" or "got first blood within the first 2:30 in 5 separate games" or support badges like "applied CC that led directly to the death of an opponent 4 times" or "landed CC on at least 3 enemies at once in 10 games" or "healed an ally from 10% to full 3 times" and they have to be in winning games

It is still showing things that lead to forcing gameplay. Its forcing people to play certain champions that can only do certain things. I see where you are going but i dont think it would fit in league. Just my opinion

Those are fair points. What if they were really rare badges tho, things that people couldn't randomly hope to get from a game and Riot didn't reveal exactly what they were, like

"Has gotten two or more pentakills in one season" or, well, once again, "has gone 20/0 or more in one match" or "Got an S+ with 7 or more champions" or "Has gone 100 or more matches without getting reported"

They are still going to focus on the badges. No matter how you put it. People are achievement hunters, and they will try their hardest to get it.

Just look at our mastery system.

But is it really a bad thing if someone tries to play well enough to get an S+? And don't people try and get pentakills anyway? These are badges for things that people already try to do, it's just that so few people do it well to that extreme a level so I think it would encourage people to play better.

It skews their mind. Instead of getting it by chance, they strive so hard to get it. Thus making people rage and feel frustrated more

But I mean...so do pentakills and getting first blood or a dragon. I think it encourages people to play better, that's my take on it, and it doesn't do it any better or worse than any other objective in the game.

It doesnt make sense really how well they can implement it. You can only think of so many things

Could you please translate that to English?

Ok. It would be hard for rito to put that in the game and implement (apply) it to the game. There can be so many achievements they can think of. So once they are all out, people will be disappointed.

Does that clerify?

Still doesn't make a lot of sense, they don't have to put every possible achievement in the game, but they could continuously create new ones and just because there's a limit to rank doesn't mean people are disappointed when they climb ranks, potentially being disappointed at everything you achieve isn't really a basis to not achieve something.
