I destroyed this Zed in lane as Fizz, got 3 or 4 kills in lane. He roamed, got like 1 kill, then after he farmed a bit more and finished his , I was no longer able to do ANYTHING to him. I had like , and , and were his only items (He was 1/6/1.) I was dying to him by the time I proc'd his shield. I'm also wondering why has armor pen, it doesn't really make sense that a defensive item does that. Just so you know I don't usually make these posts complaining about champions, but Zed feels really unfair as he is. Or maybe it's the , I'm not really sure, but I just felt totally powerless despite having 8-9 kills.

You're just horribly bad then. Maw and boots don't beat your supposed build and with that ratio.Don't blame the champ when you can't function properly.

I don't actually usually play AP champs. I'm a yasuo main with near 400k mastery. The only reason I wasn't playing Yasuo that game is because one of my teammates decided to be a dickhead and ban him, in spite of me picking him as my intended champion.

I actually can by comparing gold spent and the mechanics of both of your champions. He has what, 3500gold there? You have like 7000? You also can completely negate his ult in two ways, zhonyas and troll pole. Overall, you were outplayed hard so he must have simply poked you down. 180 AP. 10% cdr, 5% MS, 50 armor. (Or 45 whatever it is), stasis effect, lichbane proc, and 15 magic pen are not outclassed by 55 AD, 50 MR, and lifeline. You were outplayed to the max [slayer-jinx-wink]

Zhonyas is a defensive item and gives as much AP as the pure damage items.

If someone wants to talk about item balance he shouldn't be comparing AP items, you know those items that have been the top itemization options since season 3.

Zed's laning phase could use a nerf, that aside he is fine.

If you had those items and still died, then you made huge bad plays like missing E and/or R, in which case enemy Zed outplayed you. With those items Fizz destroys Zed with ease, the problem is you, not Zed.
