Many a ult has been cancelled due to this... Seemingly intended loophole to the now rare silences. Riven will cast her first broken wings, and then be able to cast the next two in the chain.

Any non-channelled ability activated before a silence hits will continue as normal.

Actually, Malzahar's ult has a slight delay/cast time.

I know, its utterly annoying.
