Malz Playstyle

Just saying... why make his playstyle center around the voidlings and gut the hell out of his most fun ability? (E)

His E is hardly "gutted" and how is throwing E on an enemy and running away more fun than throwing E on them and then W and watch them run away as 47 voidlings attack them?
Old Malz players, myself included, like the way he was. A DoT Mage with a capital M with zoning, CC, and damage even against tanks were his main strengths.
New Malz players seem to love this new skirmishing, scrappy AP Jungler. His strengths are strong control over monster objectives, dueling power, and innate defense against CC.
The problem here is THESE ARE TWO EXTREMELY DIFFERENT PLAYSTYLES. No old Malz player wanted him to become a completely different champion, but that's exactly what he's become. Whether he's strong or OP or whatever is irrelevant. You could have easily made another champion with an AP jungling kit to appease new Malz players instead of basically deleting the Mid Zoning & DoT Mage I loved playing. Hell, just let Fiddlesticks summon some crows as minions and there you go - then we can have original Malz back
Mal isn't weak at all. I ran him most of the night along with zyra and mal is amazing. I Jg him and he can clear Jg faster then I seen in awhile with out a return. He can take first Dragon at level 3 and I solo baron twice in one game. Overall his new kit is amazing and love it.
