I miss Ulti Hat...

There I said it. Ulti hat was a much better rune than ultimate hunter. A rune like that makes way more sense in the sorcery tree particularly if you are planning to go a cdr build and need to take inspiration second tree for insight.

Why was ultihat so much better? Largely because there are many champions who use their ultimates defensively, and the new rune did exactly what you wanted and expected, simply giving you more cdr for your ultimate when you needed it. I've been playing some Cho'gath lately for fun because the new skin is out and I like the champion. Ultimate hunter SHOULD be great for that champion. It's not though, because you never know how many stacks of ultimate hunter you will land up with. With ultimate hat even if you were chomping jungle camps you at least knew you were getting a stack and would evenly scale.

This also holds true for champions like Azir or Aurelion where you may ult not to kill someone but to save yourself. Granted you will get stacks eventually over the course of the game, but without evenly scaling up until you have kills there will be lots of games where you are using a champion that relies on their ult sitting on zero to 1 stack.

Plus the old icon was more fun.

Ultimate hat was originally designed for champions who have powerful and long cooldowns such as Karthus Morgana Soraka .

The fact that champions who have small cooldown could abuse that ultimate and make their ultimate even lower was a flaw. Karma Ahri Kassadin

Basically, it would take forever for champions such as Karthus to charge ultimate hat, while it would only take a minute for karthus to charge his.

It would also incite players to sometime use their ultimate for nothing just to charge that ultimate hat stack opposed to a timed ultimate.
