Is new Evelynn even going to be played like an assassin?
Eve is one of my favorite champs, mostly for two reasons. I love being able to pop out of nowhere and delete someone, and I love to be able to build essentially whatever I want and end up with all kinds of crazy hybrid builds. One of those things has definitely been eliminated since she's AP only now, and after thinking on her kit some it seems like the other might be too.
So it seems like Eve is going to be able to do huge damage if she executes her full combo. It also seems like she's very rarely going to be able to execute her full combo unless the enemy is way, way out of position. Even if you sneak up on an enemy with no control wards around, from the time you W they have a full 2.5 seconds to try to get to some sort of safety and/or get some teammates around. This means if you do proc the charm when they're alone, they're dead. But it seems like it will be pretty rare that you can completely get them when they have 2.5 seconds of warning. Also, you'll never be able to get the charm off in a team fight as an assassin. You cannot flank with your full combo, and one of the playtesters even said they had the most luck using their W to try to zone the support away to be able to attack the carry.
With it seeming like assassinations are going to be way more difficult, a lot of her kit just makes me think that she should be built as a bruiser/diver. If you're building her tanky, she could maybe actually survive and soak up damage for 2.5 seconds to be able to get the charm off on who she actually wants to charm. Plus, then she gets the MR shred for her ult's huge base damage even if she's not building any AP. Or just let your team's midlaner hit them after they're charmed. Once the MR is shredded, why does Eve have to kill them? Just soak up damage and let the mid do it. Plus, with her ult she can easily get out of any teamfight/dive, and with her passive she can heal back up enough to then be able to re-engage with a decent amount of health. And outside of teamfights she could just dive and soak some tower shots while the laner whittles the enemy down, then pop the charm, ult to execute and get out at the same time.
It seems to me like tanky Eve is probably the way to go, as assassin Eve will be very high risk for honestly not that much more reward. To me, Eve should be a pure assassin, but it doesn't seem like that will be the way to play her. Am I the only one who sees her new kit this way? I'm already sad her itemization options were cut in half, somebody show me how the assassin build will actually work please, so I don't have to have both of my favorite things die.

and try to wait for 2.5 sec ? ... u know how that will end.
