Do most people playing rumble smartcast his ultimate? I find it so much easier to regular cast it.

Just curious if the Equalizer and Viktor's laser are easier to just regular cast to get the aim correct. Thanks for input

I always smartcast. Just click and drag before releasing in the direction you want it to go, if you change your mind right click before you release the left click. It's very simple.

It's personal preference. Smart casting just makes things faster and work best when you understand the range of the skill. If you're not sure the exact range of the move then normal casting is better because you can see where it will go. I smart cast everything and I've gotten used to learning the range of moves by just trying them out. Rumble's ult is weird since you have to hold the input in order to use it but I got used to it when I tried him out. I don't play Victor and I don't main Rumble so I may not be the best source but I'd figure I'd still try to give some input.

There is a checkbox somewhere "range indicators for smartcast"

it will show range when you press down and cast when you release.

I typically turn off smartcasting for Rumble's ultimate.

Of course, I don't frequently play him so I forget to change it until after I have wiffed my first ultimate...

I feel like the way they set up smart cast on these abilities is weird. They should change it to I click, drag my mouse in a direction, and then when I release it casts. Not I click, flick, and pray. I use normal cast.

^I couldnt stop laughing at "click, flick and pray" XD. So true lol. I find it easier to normal cast viktors laser as well.

I use to regular cast his ult. Now I smart cast it. It is kind of weird to smart cast but the easiest way I found to do it when you press R put your mouse where you want it to start and then move your cursor the direction you want it.

I have to normal cast those two. I go back and forth between smart and normal cast on various other abilities but smart casting those two always throw me off.

I learned on Viktor, then got Rumble.

For me, I had my cast set up so you held down the cast button and you'd see the range, then you'd release to fire. For whatever reason though, it would not work with Viktor's Laser. I'd press the button, drag where I wanted it to go, release, and nothing would happen. As such, I got in the habit of turning Quick Cast on for Viktor's Laser just so it would fire at all for me (without me messing up my settings for the rest of my champions). That spiraled into me doing Quick Cast for everything.

The only time I think it might be a detriment is with Rumble's Ult, because I think I misjudge the max range and cast it closer than I probably need to.

it´s very fluent to smartcast, never had problems (except for the one patch whne it started a little off the cursour for no particular reason at all).

I think it just comes down to personal preference. For instance I like to use normal cast on many AOE abilities like Gragas and Leona ults so I can get a more exact aim on the ability. I understand the range and the diameter of the ability very well through experience, and I know I can land it on smartcast fairly accurately, but I feel it helps me aim a little better if I use normal cast. I use normal cast on Rumble ult as well, but I don't really have as much experience with it so it helps me a lot more.

Really just do whatever you feel is more comfortable while you're playing. For instance, when I play a champion whose AOE ult is much faster like Malphite and Annie, I use smart cast so I can get it off that much quicker, and it just feels better for me and I feel like I can land better Ults when I use the quickcast. With Gragas and Leona and even Rumble, I feel like I have to lead the ability a little bit to compensate for champion movement so I take a little more time to aim it exactly the way I want it.
