I have hardly seen anyone talking about it and well... frankly I don't see the point of it. Feels like the game is even more grindy because I either am forced to one trick/one role to the next level or if I get my off role I'm now just wasting time there.
Punishes people for playing multiple roles and I don't really know what issue it's solving.
Thoughts?
I agree; it feels like such a grind. I play ranked because generally people care a little more and i like to fill get more games in when I can play. This system punishes those that want to play more roles; I want my play across the map to reflect my rank.
I can see why the idea appeared to make sense: if a player is only good at one role, both they and their team used to be punished by the matchmaking thinking they would be better than they were.
However, in this case the cure is worse than the disease. First, it means that autofilled players no longer care about winning at all. Second, it punishes those who actually do play multiple roles. And third, even for those one-trick characters who benefit from the changes, it takes a huge amount of games to actually get to the point where the new system would work for them.
