Skins and pay to win?
League needs an option in the option menu to turn off skins from all other players on my screen.
I came back to play league not long ago after a pause. I was playing mid and I was very low HP. And I noticed something flying towards my character that looked like a frog. After I was killed I realized it was in fact a jinx rocket. I saw the 'rocket' from far enough so I could even dodge it by clicking (I also had flash). But as I was watching the 'frog' coming towards me I was thinking "What the hell is that?". A game later I have mistaken a ward skin that has a hockey stick with Jax that has the hockey skin while I was sweeping for wards.
Senna is a fresh champion. It will take a while until I will react to her skills thinking it's her. But right now I'm looking at TrueDamage Senna skin and I can't tell if her E is hers or a project jhin trap. Side by side it might be a big difference. But at first sight the 2 abilities look exactly the same.
Many skins start to have similar animations and sounds : Project skins , arcade and star guardian and probably many more but those are the few that I noticed. And this is not even something very recent. Project Ashe when she was released her E and R looked exactly the same when looking at them travel at 1400 and 1600 speed.
Don't understand me wrong , most of the skins released the past 2 years look sick. But I will never buy skins again from Riot games again. I have my reasons , no need for me to go into them in this post.
These days knowing a champion very good or mastering micro / macro game is not enough, apparently you need to learn the skins. I feel very sorry for new players.
**Talking about new players, if you started playing league this year (2019) what are your thoughts about the skins in the game? Did any skin at any time look like another champion? ** This is a question for everybody regardless when you started playing : Have you ever not recognized an ability from a champion because of the skin the champion was wearing (and how often)?
Skins these days get too confusing , it feels like the enemy player that has the skin has an advantage over me. Not a big one, but even 0,5 seconds are very significant when we talk about reaction while you figure it out in the middle of the fight.
