As an ex-Rengar main, the champion is horrible. Season 6 and start of 7 I was a hardcore Rengar main. Since then I haven't played league much, let alone the champion. Last days I tried him and went "try hard" few games just to see how he performs and let's say shit didn't turn out too good.

Here are some reasons Rengar is bad right now and how he got from the strongest champ to a weak one:

  1. Jungle is not in the best state, in my opinion.
  2. Removal of armor penetration and introduction of lethality.
  3. Gradual nerf + change to his core items.
  4. The introduction of a 600 gold zonya. (item 2420)
  5. The release/rework of champions with tons of dashes (Akali Irelia Kayn Pyke Sylas )
  6. The release/rework of champions with invulnerability and dashes (Ekko Evelynn Xayah).
  7. Damage reduction on more and more champions.

All those were indirect nerfs that affected the champion and he needs some compensation for that. He needs some quality of life buffs. Not damage, he has enough of that.

Here are the most needed buffs:

  1. **E cast time removed. **This is the single worst thing they ever did to him. Shortly after they added that the "1 shot" combo was ruined and I stopped playing him.
  2. Ferocity increased from 4 to 5 and is never lost when out of combat. This is something the champion desperately needs. The champion is bush and ult dependent. He lacks 1 of those and he is basically useless. Not losing his ferocity actually motivate rengar players to finish jungle camps with 5 stacks.

Any damage buffs are pointless. Personally I would rework him again. His kit right now, can't hold up to "modern" league of legends and never will without being OP.

To all the ADC mains. Before you complain about the damage of the champion remember: He is an ASSASSIN. Damage is his identity. Rengar not having damage is like an ADC having 125 attack range , or a rammmus not being tanky. Oh and on top of that you already have an anti-assassin ADC (Xayah )

To all the Rengar mains... There is nothing I can say to make you feel better. I'm sorry for you. Rengar is bad and he will probably never rise again in the near future with all these ADC cry babies.

To any other player: I'm open to any honest talk, objective and not subjective.

Edit: Damn those ADC mains slamming this post hard. If I would be an ADC main I would do the same, so I understand you.

If you can't do his 1 shot combo still, pretty sure the problem is with you and not the champion. Rengar is very very far from weak or bad currently. The changes he's had over the past couple years just took him from a braindead one shot machine to a champion that actually requires a bit of skill to pull off well.

They're the same thing. Lethality just has level-based scaling.

Damage is his identity. Simply one-shotting with little you can do (especially removing his goddamn cast times) is not supposed to be the identity of any champion.

So, hard pass on him getting the slightest buff
