Show me any game that didn't see a decrease in player after 6 years.

Runescape. Or if you want to see the more modern version, Old School Runescape. That game is 5 years old, atm.

IMO Riot is too obsessed with making the game more complicated, when it really shouldn't be. Champions should be simple to understand and learn, and fair to play against. Even items are getting more complicated when they shouldn't be. My favorite era of LoL was when the meta 'heavy damage' build was:

item 3031 item 3046 item 3072 item 3072 item 3006 item 3035

Man those were fun times.
