Filthy solos should stay out of ranked! It belongs to premades!!!

Ranked is for championship rewards, why bother playing it if you can do without?

Ranked is for stomping bronze and silver with accounts perpetually kept in those elos for that exact same reason.

Fox ranked.

Ranked is for fun, if you wanna tryhard play bot matches!

Ranked is deh shiz meng.

Mordekaiser es numero 1. Huehuehue.

Teemo is our lord and saviour.

If you're gonna troll, please do it in ranked! Stop ruining my bot games!!!

The best practice in ranked is to feed, that way you don't get hungry!

Good luck and dog feed.

just remember the actual point of the game is to have fun and enjoy it.

here is a though about rank...

rank isnt something to be ashamed of. i feel rank is just a way for riot to put players of similar skill levels vs each other so they can have fair games and enjoy and have fun playing the game... hear me out...

you are bronze.. what if every game you matched vs plats and diamonds? and you get stomped up and down the map and the game is no fun to you.. are you likely to keep playing if that is what happens every time?

on the other hand if your plat/diamond whatever "high" elo if you playing vs people lower skill level then you is that fun not every being challenged? it would be like if you were to go play a game co op vs bots or a custom game vs bots and the difficult is set on easy?

how fun is that?

so in theory rank is there to put us vs people we have a chance to win against while being challenged so the game is fun and rewarding at the same time and keeps you playing....

yeah, I'm glad it doesn't bring me aaginst plats, and I mainly play or fun, just i'm starting to want a challenge

Let me just tell you where you are wrong. The very fact that you don't think you can improve is the biggest problem here, closely followed by your attitude. First off, mute all if you are doing bad. Second off, the fact that you don't think you can get better by playing the game shows that you aren't trying to improve. If you are trying to improve, then norms are the best way to learn without risking your rank. Change your mentality from "i won't get any better" to "If I work really hard at it, I can get better." The second most important thing is attitude. Flaming doesn't help, and going into a game thinking you will lose is suicide. You need to go into every game with the mentality that you WILL play your best, and you WILL hold on until late.

Also, if you aren't getting any better by losing in ranked, you are doing it wrong. You should be conscious of your mistakes when you make them, and learn from them. Ranked isn't about winning games, its about learning in a competitive environment. That being said, you can still learn from norms games, however people are more likely to be serious players in ranked. But yeah, learn from your mistakes, stick to one-two champions, don't flame and keep a positive attitude. Or you can watch a stream to improve, either way, its about learning.

EDIT RESPONSE: Id suggest learning a champion in another role just so that your experience doesn't get streamlined into only one role. Id recommend Malphite top, Annie mid, or Ashe adc. Playing them will build the foundation for any champion in that role. From there you already have the skills for many other champions in those roles so learning more will not be as hard. Keep playing soraka support too, I don't think i was clear in what I meant to say so I'm going back and adding this.

ALSO, If you aren't having fun, stop playing for a while. You won't learn to better yourself if you are on tilt.

Good luck :3

Getting better by losing in Ranked is actually pretty much a dice roll.

I don't know how it is in your MMR/Elo, but down here in Bronze the match-making is pretty abysmal, especially if pre-mades are involved. You might lane against someone far worse than you and stomp only to lose because their bot lane stomped yours - i.e. win lane, lose game. You also might lane against someone far better than you and get stomped so hard and so fast that you aren't really sure what went wrong.

There's a reason people down here say some champions aren't strong enough to be viable or are too strong. If you're up against something like a One-Trick Yasuo, even one in Bronze can completely wreck your team. Meanwhile, someone that really likes Karthus may get completely screwed in a lot of match ups. There are things you can do, but for a lot of people it isn't obvious.

Personally, I blame the lack of proper tutorials in League of Legends. The game never teaches you how to act when your lane opponent has an advantage - how to play safe, get farm without dying, how to avoid getting all-in'd and tower dived, etc. It also never explains jungling or how to play in lane with ally/enemy junglers. Honestly, the game doesn't even really explain that some abilities can be used to cross walls, let alone how that can be useful.

If it cannot be found through normal gameplay, it may as well not exist for some players. Sometimes the only way to get better isn't to just keep playing, but to take a break from playing and use outside help like Streamers, YouTube, and other 3rd party help. This is completely terrible for game health since there is no way for a beginner player to even know which of these sources are factual/reliable and which are complete nonsense. Just getting to Level 30 doesn't teach you jack about the game - and that's just terrible for anything passing itself off as competitive.

Honestly, the game doesn't even really explain that some abilities can be used to cross walls, let alone how that can be useful.

I think that this has to all be learned through experience. The game should only be held responsible for explaining mechanics, abilities and objectives. I'm pretty sure that all the abilities that have interactions with walls are explained in their ability description. Though I do agree that it should be brought to attention that all abilities can go through walls unless instructed they can't. Everything else you said is learned with experience. You really can't expect Riot to explain every single situation or matchup. If they did that then people would find ways to play around that, then people would be complaining that the game is unfriendly to beginners again.

Jungle specifically cannot be explained to a beginner in detail, mostly because its too complex a role to relegate to one style of play. All jg's have different play styles, and all jg's have different objectives to accomplish. Its a role that is fleshed out through experience entirely, and there is no better way for people to learn it than to actually play it themselves. Item descriptions like smite or the jg items give a bit of context on what you are supposed to be doing.

Even just asking people how to play the game can benefit a new player. What I think needs to happen is there needs to be a beginner section on the boards so that experienced players can help newer players learn the game.

The point of a ranking system is to help you realize your mistakes in a serious environment. If you do not play ranked to find your mistakes, fix them and get better, then you are doing it wrong. And if you aren't learning anything by getting to rank 30, then you aren't playing to improve. Its perfectly ok if you are playing the game for fun, but don't expect to get very high on a ranked ladder. The difference between a high elo player and a low elo player is that the high elo player played to improve, and learned from their mistakes.

What?

The very fact that you don't think you can improve is the biggest problem here,

The OP litterally said,

If i keep playing regular pvp, i won't get any better, and if i keep losing ranked i won't get any better

so the whole point of his post is that they want to improve.... Read the post before giving condescending advice.

Jeanne fan club1 votes

Condescending? Excuse me? I told him that his attitude was his problem. attitude is most peoples problem when it comes to improving. Many people just don't want to put in the work to improve, and that's why they are lower elo. If he want's advice, then he will listen to criticism. Criticism is there to help people better themselves. Censoring it in the name of feelings is just wrong.

Keeping a POSITIVE attitude helps you to improve and learn from your mistakes. Having a negative attitude makes you angry, and you either let that mistake go right over your head or blame someone else for it. I am saying he is wrong because he doesn't think he can improve. If you don't think you can improve, then you won't try to improve. The fact that he is in despair about the lack of results will stunt his growth as a player. He came to the boards asking for advice, and I wanted to give him some. This doesn't concern you at all.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

Condescending? Excuse me? I told him that his attitude was his problem.

What about his attitude was his problem? He came here asking about how to get better, and that shows he absolutely has the right attitude. Read the original post before replying to me again.

Jeanne fan club1 votes

Yeah, and this BIGGEST problem is his pessimistic attitude when it comes to getting better. MOST PLAYERS HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ATTITUDE. Ive read the op multiple times. There is no magic fix to his problem. He needs to change his attitude from pessimistic and optimistic, and be willing to learn from his mistakes. THAT IS THE WHOLE PROBLEM, HE IS TOO NEGATIVE (from what it sounds like in his post).

As a diamond player I can assure you, his problems have nothing to do with choice of champ or role. IT IS ALL ABOUT ATTITUDE. Pessimism means that you would rather be doing something else. If you are pessimistic, then your first priority is not to improve, its to gain elo. that is the wrong approach to ranked. That is what I'm telling the OP, he needs to improve his attitude to climb. If you keep a positive attitude, then you are more likely to stick it out until the end. You have no idea how many games are decided only by how long the losing team wants to keep playing. Not to mention that if you are happy about playing competitive ranking, then you are playing to improve.

This is why people get stuck in plat, they aren't enjoying the game, thus they stop playing to improve. They only play to get into diamond at that point. That is why Plat is a cesspool, they don't think they need to get better, they all have a negative attitude, they are all pessimistic.

My advice is the best you can ever give someone who wants to get better at this game. A good attitude allows people look at the game in a rational perspective and understand the choices they are making. It allows them to stick it out to the end and come back if they are losing. It keeps people from making irrational choices that cost the game because they overexagerate on making a difference in the game. Most of all it keeps people off of tilt. Tilt is the #1 reason for losing elo. You get so disengaged from the game that you result to toxicity rather than trying to improve. Your attitude depends whether you go on tilt or not. Only other advice that I can give op is that if he is sick of playing ranked, stop playing, there is no reason to force yourself to do something you don't want to do. You won't learn that way.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

Ok, you seem to be under the delusion that i think attitude is unimportant. Read my posts, read the OP again.

any help?

thanks for all the support! :D

i love multiple champs and and I never really settle down for one...

SION SUPPORT! :D XD

He loves champs, he's joking about Sion support, he's asking for help, and he's appreciating the support he's gotten. That isn't a negative attitude. I think we are done here because you just think I'm arguing that attitude isn't important. If you want to type another 3 pages on the importance of attitude go ahead, it's for your health though.

If you're looking for a challenge, then just jam ranked, and try to climb, and if you dont climb, thats probably meaning you're getting challenged, and will learn from that if you are serious about improving. If you do climb, then you're going to reach a place where you will get challenged. It's a win-win situation. Also, if people are consistently toxic, just /mute all at the beginning of your game, will save you so many headaches.

xReadyPlayerOnex1 votes

I play only normals. I like it better than ranked. Ranked is pure absurdity and I don't enjoy being penalized for my teams dumb choices. When they add personal ranked scores I'll maybe start playing it. But at current, I like normals. Don't think you won't get better. The only way you'd get better in ranked vs. normals is if you were consistently playing against diamonds and learned from them. What you'll learn in bronze silver or gold is the same you can learn in normals.

Simpumba1 votes

Ranked IMO is if you're very competitive, that's why a lot of people don't end of playing in it. Its full of people who want to win, and get frustrated when someone on their team is under performing. When in normals, people love messing around, and take it less seriously.

IMO don't play ranked until you grow a tough skin and know when to mute a player, just these two things can get you out of a bronze rank, or silver. In the end though, if you want a challenge, be prepare for very rude players, I've learnt to just ignore them though, if they're going to say you suck and kill yourself, just mute them and focus on the game, thats the best advice I can give you.

I play ranked because it fills the super competitiveness in me, I've been banned for two weeks(season5) and I've just learned its not worth listening to toxic players, IF you play ranked, mute the toxics, play your best, and climb. If you lose lane, look at what you did wrong and what did your opponent do right?

Well people play ranked with the goal of reaching gold or challenger.

There are many things in the way and it looks like you just seem bogged down from all the SALT ranked has.

If you are getting affected by your team then /mute all helps. Other solutions are! Winding down from the loss! Creating one for yourself is really effective. I can tell a few things. Listening to (well made) trance helps winding down. Taking a stroll down the street in the 6x4 is another great one.

When you get back to playing. Get yourself accustomed to having a cool, calm, UNSHAKABLE and CERTAIN attitude while under stress. Hope this helps m8.

Just find a champion you're good at for each role that's not Aatrox.

Play them in ranked, use your ban strategically.

umm i went from unranked straight to plat after playing only blinds, maybe it's only you i guess.

Dukues1 votes

Eh to be fair man looks like Riot's ranked system screwed you. You obviously ranked higher than you should be right now, and that is not your fault. Just take a step back and realize it takes time to learn the game.

You can definitely learn from normal games if you have a set plan in mind. Figure out what 2 roles you like and find 2 champions in each role and just spam them over and over again. Do it for like 50 normal games until you get really comfortable.

Your cs numbers are low so just go into a bot game or normal game and just practice last hitting minions over and over again. This honestly will help you out a lot.

your builds look ok but if you have any questions go to lolking.net or another site and look up guides. I use lolking a lot back in the day. Look for a guide from a diamond + player with lots of views. Don't just briefly scan the items but read the entire actual guide. Sometimes the authors include lots of information and tips/tricks you might not know. I learned a lot back when I starting reading guides a couple of seasons ago that changed the way I viewed some champions and how I approached my games.

There are also tons of youtube videos out there on how to play different roles. They will be overwhelming at first but just try to pick up a few things and build off of them. You won't be a pro after one game but if you focus on learning and practicing eventually you will get better and can advance in skill, knowledge, ranks.

it be lìke that1 votes

depends on your role. i fell from s3 100 lp all the way to silver 5 (i lost a total of around 110 lp to afks on my team) however, things i learned during that experience.

MUTE. Mute is your best friend, anything typed is 99% useless in solo queue, pings mean far more. DISABLE THE CANCER THAT IS ALL CHAT.

If you jungle, biggest thing i learned, DO NOT GANK ON DEMAND, no reason to reset some 0/7 bums gold value. no matter how much he flames or complains its your fault he got destroyed, mute him, defend towers if need be, but do not give him the chance to hurt your team more.

Patience trust your instincts and your wards, try to predict movement paths and catch the enemy jungler rotating.

Play champs you are confidentin your ability with, if you are a laner and you die twice in lane early, farm under turret best you can, dont push wave, wait for some jungle help.

Top lane a kill around with your jungle 10-13 minutes and their teleport is down, you can take first tower and catch back up to the gold difference vs oppressive early game champs such as pantheon into gp.
