Don’t idolize the Tank Meta. Remember its trappings!

Yes, people hate this meta, and probably think I’m crazy, but the very same people have been wanting back the Tank meta without seeing the real problem on why Tank meta was removed in the first place: they are not just dangerous in damage numbers, but also unkillable to the point where you regret not banning them and make you wanna quit the game.

Remember Maokai? Literally one of the best Tank peelers along with Braum in S7? Q’s you away, doesn’t die cuz of his passive and his root spelled certain doom in a team fight? No, you don’t know nor care?

What about Mundo and Cho’gath? Mundo ignoring everything and spanking your carries by doing 1000 damage on his auto-E-hydra combo? Or Cho’gath with Stoneplate instantly deleting your carry?

How about Zac and Sejuani? The two stars in Worlds 2017 that made it a snooze fest? The purest definitions of ‘don’t get caught by them or else you lose the game’? Instabans.

Did you forget about Tristana, the ONLY adc that mattered in the Tank meta cuz of her range and getaway? People seem to forget that if her animation began before the CC locks her down, her rocket jump takes priority. Psh, instaban or you lose late game (did you forget that games last season were 30-40 minutes compared to 15-28 minutes this season?) Also, Vayne’s not viable despite her W cuz of her frailty, and stealth does not stop a Maokai’s gung-ho root.

Oh, don’t forget that these games turn into a "next person to get caught loses the game" situation, and dragging the game out so long by playing hard defense makes early objectives less meaningful because you can just keep the game going until gold leads mean nothing. Therefore, in the Tank Meta, NOTHING IS REWARDING UNTIL YOUR DUMB TEAMMATE OR YOUR DUMB SELF GO OUT OF POSITION LATE GAME.

So stop saying that you want a Tank Meta again. Say that you want tanks viable. Not broken and overpowered like Jesus under your desk, but on par with everybody else.

I dont even care. A. Assasine deals 2k dmg plus in less than a secons. Shut up with saying any tank deals or dealt to much dmg. We are playing a moba, games should NEVER take less than 30 mins of time. go play fortnite if u want to play a bullshit battleroyal.

The point is that u have two options to balance shit again.

  1. You keep assasines brusiers and mages in their current op state, but revert tanks to how they have been during tank meta. So you would have incredible high burst dmg but on the other hand there are extremly tanky charakter, able to do their job correctly, cause they would not get oneshot permanently (like it sadly is the case right now). So there would be a balance between high dmg and high defense.

  2. Keept tanks in the current state, but nerf Assasines, Brusier and Mages back to how they were before the introduction of lethalithy and the ap item remake. So you would have low dmg and low defense, aka a good balance.

What ppl dont want is that one is stronger than another. But what you have to remember is that tanks are ment to counter assasines, assasines are ment to counter carries and carries (ad most of the time) are ment to counter tanks. If u shift that balance, to what is is atm, aka everthing oneshots but tanks and supporter are useless, you will not only archive imbalance, but also a raging or sad Community.

Yeah, people get the tank meta confused with longer games. Games use to be longer regardless of whether or not it was an assassin meta or double ap meta or a tank meta. The problem of the recent seasons comes from game length and champion design, not that tanks are out of the meta. The games use to be longer and more macro focused reguardless of which champions were at the top of the meta.

Okay.. I preferred the -real- Tank Meta, the first one, that was far worse than Cinderhulk because they literally became unable to be killed, to people being deleted by point and click abilities in under 1s.

Just saying.

I'd rather have time to play the game.
