AOE Assassin Vlad

What do you think of this new Vlad build (in light of massive nerf to E, I feel like I need more AP injected into the build early on but hopefully not losing too much CDR)?

AP Quints, Scaling CDR Blues (to 15% end game), Flat Armor Yellows, Magic Pen reds

12-18-0 with Intelligence (starting with 5% extra CDR) and Stormraider's Surge.

Ghost + Flash

...

item 3158 item 3065 item 3089 item 3285 item 3116 item 3135

In whatever order makes sense in the game. Generally though, SV will be rushed first.

Wait for the fights to begin, then Ghost into the battle, hit as many key targets possible with R, and biast them with Tides of Blood and Transfusions. If you get Ludden's and Rabadon by mid game, the burst damage is huge.

I know the pros like to get Rylais as soon as possible but I prefer to burst them down with heavy AP and then follow up to finish with the Stormraider's Surge.

You get 40% CDR by end game with just building two CDR items (from the runes) and you're VERY vulnerable against AD damage because Zhonyas isn't in the build (I find that you lose too much damage from it now) but the burst is real and you still auto-win AP lanes with one SV.

Thoughts?

You realize you just posted a normal Vladamir build aside from the ludens right?

The Probuilds build is very different from mine.

It would like something more like

item 3158 item 3065 item 3116 item 3152 item 3135 item 3157 (in different orders depending on the game, sometimes a item 3001 is thrown in there).

They like to build the CDR from the items (picking up utility and defensive stats along the way). Its also common to take Movement Speed Quints. Stormraider's Surge also currently isn't meta on Vlad; the other keystones tend to be favoured.

Generally, the traditional way to build Vlad is to focus CDR and Rylais is almost always the very first major damage item to get.

But I prefer to build him AOE Burst style so Rylais would be pretty low on the priority (while Ludden's and Rabadon would be favoured).

Its also for a different context. In coordinated play you can count on people to follow up on your picks with Rylais; but in the uncoordinated mess of Solo Q I find that I accomplish a lot more by myself with a Stormraiders/Heavy AP setup rather than the CDR Rylais rush.

You literally just subbed in Ludens for Protobelt. This is a normal Vladamir build. Literally nothing is out of the ordinary
