Can somebody explain this to me?

So it seems in nearly every ranked game I play as support (currently Silver 3) my ADC locks in , which in low elo is not the greatest pick. I just don't understand why people think they can pull off a pick that requires a ton of mechanics when there are far simpler champions to play at that rank, like , , heck I'd take . I just don't understand why you'd try to make such a complex pick work, I know he's fun to play but unless you're somebody who knows how to make him work you're just going to lose lane hard.
