top lane feels like the worst role to play
full of annoying split pushers and broken bruisers that never die also annoying pokers (teemo, jayce, quinn, gnar) may god have mercy on your soul if you main this role

It gets better every time a mid laner champ gets trashed out from there. They somehow put a 'home sweet home' sign on top lane.
Top Lane has been the most straining role for about 3 seasons now. Think of every champion the community hates, and I'd say a solid 66% of them can be or are solely used in Top Lane.
Top lane? I think you mean an island.
Top has pretty much just been a power farm lane to tp gank bot with a 3-level advantage for some time now. Rift herald is a joke of an objective that only further empowers splitpushers, and even then, not by much since it is so easy to deal with. 20-min+ it's a crowded location for baron but the laning phase will have been over for a solid 5-10 minutes before baron plays come online.
The Scuttle changes were supposed to, among their goals, get toplaners to help jungler contest the miniobjective, but doing so doesn't reward exp or gold for the toplaner, as opposed to the universal gold and buffs adcs get for helping with drakes. With blastcones and a billion dark spots in top lane's gank routes, the paltry amount of vision from scuttle only serves to help the jungler (and bot since their two laners can cover the blindspots having double the wards).
There's a good reason 
top is such a more popular pick in organized play; he's one of the only champions that can impact the rest of the map from the island of top.
Top lane was such cancer to i quit it and started to main jg and adc. Since jg could actually do things and adc is just an easy AF role
Top is great if you know what you are doing and you can tell that your laner doesn’t lol

just curious why people seem to hate the idea of taking lissandra top lol?
my go to when autofilled top right now is Lissandra. She's got reliable escape, you can go with a tankier Tear/RoA/Zhonya/Banshee's build to better survive the lane against divers and bruisers, and she has pretty equal amounts of poke, sustain, and waveclear. Plus, she's decent against pretty much all of those things except for maybe Jayce...7 abilities is annoying. >.>
I love top lane because it's probably one of the most diverse roles in the game. Mages can go top, bruisers can go top, tanks can go tops, hell, occassionally we'll see ADCs go top. It's such a wildcard lane and it's fun to play around that. I can see how people could get tilted though.
