I feel awful when I afk

If you feel awful about afk'ing, make sure you don't afk as much?
I'm confused. Are you saying you feel bad for your team because you AFK when the game isn't going your way? Are you saying that teams that lose with AFKers shouldn't lose LP?
In either case - There's never an excuse to AFK in games. When you press "Accept", you're committing to a match and your team no matter how the game will turn out. AFKing is just flat out unacceptable.
Teams with AFKers don't get compensated LP because it could be easily abused. Bot lane not going your way and the enemy ADC is 10/0/3? One person takes the heat and the other four get off the hook with no consequences. I agree that early AFKs/bugged remakes shouldn't result in LP loss, but past 5/6 minutes the system just shouldn't/can't work that way.

Radical Idea:
I wish I could join 'games in progress' if they've had an afk for more than some preset time.
For example: if they've had an AFK player for at least 5 minutes, but not more than 10 minutes, they weren't able to do a /remake, and the game has been ongoing for less than 15 minutes....
It could be a special game mode. Call it "PUPS mode" (Picking Up Player Slack) or "Emergency Fill" mode or something.
You could be presented with a list of games with an AFK player that are at a suitable MMR/ELO/Rank/whatever.
You'd be required to use the champ that went afk (you'd have to own the champ or it would have to be on rotation), along with whatever runes they had selected.
Whatever skin they had would still be in effect - hell, it might be a nice way for players to 'try out' different skins they don't own.
The summoner name would have to change mid-game. And it should reflect that the current player is participating in-game as an "emergency fill".
Upon joining as an 'emergency fill' but before leaving the spawning platform, items can be sold back to the shop for 85% of their price instead of the usual 70%, as the joining player should not be punished for the afk player's build path.
INCENTIVE: Honor received while playing 'Emergency Fill' mode counts double towards a players honor progress. Players who have had their honor reset to 1 or zero due to account sanction could be locked out of this mode.
ALTERNATE INCENTIVE: Players with honor 0 or honor 1 are allowed to use this mode. As above, all honor result in double progress; however, all reports carry double weight. This would encourage reforming players with faster honor progression, and would also weed out the bad apples faster. Double report weight, as they would be making a bad situation (with an AFK) even worse if they didn't follow the summoner's code.
Am I up in the night? Is this abuse-able? Maybe, probably. I dunno. I just think it would be nice to jump into an AFK game and try to help the disadvantaged team.
Is this a joke afking is the only thing you can do with these teams man if they can't even place wards in the right stops they really should never win in gold plus so i make sure they lose because i dont want then in my elo.
