Possible Janna Ultimate Changes
I'm not talking about a whole new ultimate, just a small tweak to provide incentive for getting the full duration ult off.
I just want to talk about tweaking her Ultimate, Monsoon. Any Janna player knows that once you use that ultimate, you're locked in place, hoping to heal both yourself and nearby allies when you're completely immobile and exposed. It feels like it needs just a small change in one way or another to make sure she can more consistently get her ult off to the max duration, instead of just using it for the initial knockback.
Idea 1) On activation, Janna receives a shield equal to her E) Eye of the storm. This way, Janna has some protection, however slight.
Idea 2) During the ultimate channel, as Janna heals herself or nearby allies and they are at full health, they instead gain a shield that slowly decays as they exit the ultimate radius, or after the ultimate stops. This provides incentive to play within Janna's ult and keep her going. Even after you are healed, you still have something to gain.
Idea 3) On activation and throughout the channel, Janna receives a damage reduction equal to a % of her AP, or just a flat damage reduction. This allows immobile Janna to possibly survive the onslaught of attacks while keeping her ult activated as long as possible.
Idea 4) After the initial knockback of Monsoon, enemies in the radius of monsoon are slowed to 30/50/70% as they approach the center of the ultimate (Janna's current position). Having Janna's ult provide a continuous slow during channel (just like Nunu's ultimate) allows her team to kite, even after the initial knockback.
If none of the previous ideas work, then give her an incentive to keep the ult activated as long as possible.
Idea 5) At the end of the channel, Janna releases one last forceful gust, once again knocking back all nearby enemies.
